    Overview

    Caldic is currently executing a Transformation Program to become a true global player and reach excellence in the key pillars that drive our performance and financials. Procurement Excellence is one of this key pillars, being especially important for us as we are a company 'light in assets' and our procurement spend is a key driver of our financials.

    As Procurement Leader Europe, you will be responsible of driving the procurement excellence agenda within the European region, including identifying new opportunities, building a pipeline in a structured way and supporting the different teams in implementing the improvement initiatives. You will be working closely with different European stakeholders (including Europe's CEO) and local sourcing teams in each country and with the global procurement team. Your role will report directly to Commercial Director Europe, who is responsible of the commercial and sourcing teams at a European level.

    The role is based in our headquartes in Rotterdam. Travelling within Europe may be required, to work together with our different organizations as needed.

    About you

  • Knowledge of the specialty chemicals business is a plus
  • Degree in a scientific or technical discipline, preferably with a major in chemistry
  • Overall > 10 years thereof ~5 years+ experience in hands-on sourcing, successfully delivering large sourcing savings and transformation programs, preferably in a top-tier sourcing consultancy.
  • Previous experience in sourcing gained in industry and/or (B2B) retail and /or in PE-backed companies is a plus
  • Leadership skills – ability to engage at all organizational levels, down to earth, leads by example, highly energetic
  • Results focused – track record of consistently delivering results in previous positions
  • Change management – energized by a change challenge, having the tenacity and perseverance to drive change through, using an optimal mix of bottom up and top down approaches to achieve the results
  • Strategic mindset – sees the 'big picture' and formulates a clear vision and plan
  • Hands on team player
  • Excellent Communication skills – able to articulate results and ideas in a concise manner using a variety of media and formats, and be persuasive and convincing in front of a challenging audience
