    IT Officer for the eLearning and Data Technologies Team in the Information Technology (ITS) (Ref.:

    The Role

    The appointee will develop web and app applications and tools, interfacing with databases and data analytics technologies in eLearning (e.g. Moodle, Panopto) and other areas, provide support to project management, support users and perform other duties of IT Services.

    Qualifications and Qualities

    Applicants should possess a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology (IT) or a related discipline, preferably with working experience in IT discipline. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, and good communication, analytical and problem-solving skills. Certification in ITIL v3/4 and PRINCE2 would be definite advantages. High-caliber fresh graduates are also welcome to apply for an IT Technician position.

    Applicants should also have good knowledge of and relevant experience in at least two of the following areas:

  • web technologies (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, JQuery, Ajax, )
  • web and app programming (Java, Servlet, Swift, PHP, Python)
  • native/hybrid mobile app development across different devices with good understanding of popular mobile IDE tools (Flutter, React Native ,Vue, Cordova)
  • understand authentication provider and protocol, such as Shibboleth SAML 2.0, OpenID Connect and Apereo CAS
  • experience in using Azura Active Directory (Azure AD) and ADFS
  • database programming (JDBC) with Oracle/SQLServer/MySQL databases and data integration (REST API, JSON)
  • data analytics technologies especially using Power BI
  • nosql databases (ELK, Mongo DB)
  • experience in Moodle learning management system and/or Panopto lecture capture system

    • What We Offer

    The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for 2 years and commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary. Other benefits include annual leave and medical benefits.
