Your role

For this job opening, we are looking for a colleague with a primary focus on Customer Relations. You will proactively keep your Legal team and other departments informed about relevant legal developments, particularly in customer acceptance, anti-money laundering regulations, and sanctions law. You will advise on relationships with external stakeholders such as regulators and assist in court proceedings when necessary. Whether independently or as part of a team, you will always seek the most practical solutions for the bank. There is ample room for new initiatives.

Work environment

As a Legal Counsel Products, you will be part of a team of legal experts mainly focused on advising on laws and regulations, market trends, regulator requests, and media coverage in areas like Payments, Savings, Insurance, Digital Banking, Privacy, Customer Relations, and Fraud. You will be a sparring partner for internal clients, actively involved in developing new products and processes within the team's areas of focus. You play a crucial role in identifying and avoiding risks for the bank. Being a legal expert, you will actively contribute to bank-wide projects and cater to all bank divisions.

Your profile

We are looking for a creative, risk-aware, and result-driven legal professional who doesn't lose sight of the bigger picture. You should have knowledge and experience in financial regulatory law, particularly in customer acceptance, anti-money laundering regulations, and sanctions law. In addition to your legal expertise, you should possess the skills and competencies to connect and collaborate with professionals from various fields. You take responsibility, act proactively and flexibly, are accustomed to working independently, and can convincingly communicate your viewpoints. You hold yourself and others to high standards of work. Additionally, you have strong analytical skills and are a team player.

What we expect from you:

a completed Master's degree in Dutch law;
at least three years of relevant work experience, as a lawyer or legal professional, with a background in financial regulatory practice (focusing on customer acceptance, anti-money laundering regulations, and sanctions law);
excellent communication and advisory skills in Dutch and English, both verbally and in writing;
team player.
