    1 MISSION OF THE DEPARTMENT

    The WWF Global Conservation Division aims to unite WWF Offices around the delivery of a common conservation strategy. It comprises the leaders, teams, and related network communities of the nine global practices, together with the teams of Planning, Enabling & Integration, Global Policy & Advocacy, Global Campaigns, Safeguards & Human Rights, Collective Conservation Impact, and Area-based Conservation (or such variations of these departments as may be agreed from time to time). These units work together in an integrated manner to encourage, inform,support, and facilitate the optimal convergence of conservation functions across the WWF Network.

    The Global Corporate Engagement team (GCE) vision is to empower WWF corporate teams in the network to forge innovative, impactful corporate sector engagement which helps the business achieve an equitable, net-zero & nature-positive future, delivering impact against WWF 2030 conservations goals & positioning WWF as the partner of choice.

    2 MAJOR FUNCTIONS

  • Develop and implement communications strategies related to corporate partnerships while building capacity and collaboration amongst WWF's Network Offices.
  • Lead on efficient knowledge management by the Global Corporate Engagement team and amongst the WWF Corporate Community.
  • Deliver on quality external communication content for external business audiences tied to key global environmental events and global engagements.
  • Contribute to the implementation and monitoring of WWF's corporate engagement strategic approach.
  • Ensures provision & coordination of training on tools and consistent best-practice protocols on corporate engagement communication.
  • 3 MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    A. Duties and responsibilities of all GCE team members

  • Work across relevant Practices to support a set of priorities (defined and reviewed on yearly basis) with the aim to empower our corporate community with solutions to build impactful engagements.
  • Support the Global Partnership Accelerator strategy to establish global engagement that delivers on the 2030 goals (including fundraising) and serve as a benchmark and hands on capacity building through local activation. It includes a process for excellence in development and execution of global partnerships. Pro-actively seek communication led opportunities and manage engagements (communication work stream) in collaboration with Network Offices.
  • Lead the GCE in engaging the network on sharing knowledge related to the team member's role and skills to contribute to creating a culture of knowledge sharing within our community; with the aim to build capacity on the corporate engagement tool box, share best practices for replication, bad cases for constructive learning while responding to the evolving needs of our corporate community (as highlighted in the yearly community survey).
  • Work closely with the corporate community to empower national and country offices (proactively with a list of Offices defined on a yearly basis) on their local corporate engagement strategy and on day-to-day support to ensure alignment to the corporate engagement network standards, guidelines and principles to minimize risk for WWF and maximise impact vs 2030 goals.
  • Together with other Corporate Communications Manager in the team, act as Global Corporate Engagement Team Lead for Knowledge Management, Comms & Mkt lead partnership/events (Earth Hour) and the management of the GCET social media channels.
  • B. Specific duties and responsibilities of the position

  • Manage communications for key international transformation and cause-related corporate marketing partnerships and coordinate the network around the delivery of these communication activities.
  • In collaboration with the Communications and Marketing Division at WWF International, Conservation Division communicators and communications team from across the WWF network, develops content that aims to raise the profile of WWF's Corporate Engagement work in key markets.
  • Contribute towards the implementation of the WWF Network corporate engagement strategic approach through ensuring the relevancy of our Theory of Change, supporting our corporate community to advance WWF's mission, and deliver impact against the 2030 conservation goals.
  • Through strategic communications (including thought-leadership), position WWF as a best-in-class thought leader and partner of choice for industry transformation, conservation investments and sponsorship, corporate advocacy, employee engagement and marketing engagements.
  • In collaboration with the WWF Global Brand team and WWF Offices corporate partnership teams, support efforts to maintain WWF's reputation and protect the brand through ensuring the consistent application of WWF's partnerships guidelines across the network and all international partnerships.
  • Support the Corporate Engagement Community of Practice through offering guidance on key Corporate Engagement communications issues and queries, strengthening WWF's narrative on corporate engagement and ensuring quality control through reviewing content and materials targeted at international audiences.
  • Contributes towards fostering a strong and engaged Corporate Engagement community, through promoting the sharing and best practices, driving effective internal communication and knowledge management and also, building capacity where needed.
  • Develop and maintain corporate engagement communications tools, guidance and standards.
  • Manage WWF International Corporate Partnerships external communication digital channels.
  • Support on crisis management around issues relating to WWF's corporate engagement in general, or to specific partnerships. Support the WWF Network in its external transparency efforts (disclosure reporting), in close cooperation with the WWF Network Offices
  • Support the roll-out of key communication and advocacy campaigns that target the business audience or consumers.
  • Deputise the Head(s) on specific projects internally or externally as needed.
  • 4 PROFILE

    Required Qualifications.

  • A university degree in a relevant field as well as an in-depth understanding of communication practices;
  • At least three years communications experience in an international environment.
  • Required Skills and Competencies.

  • Good understanding of sustainability issues;
  • Proven experience working with remote teams;
  • Ability to relate convincingly and credibly with peers in partner organisations;
  • Ability to conceptualise and implement ideas and solutions, connect the dots and proactively create products or solutions which optimise WWF desired outcomes with business interests;
  • Strong organisational skills with an aptitude to get things done;
  • Ability to work within a virtual network;
  • Ability to conceptualise and implement communication strategies;
  • Adaptive, ability to work in a low structured environment and to reprioritise frequently;
  • Excellent command of English,other languages an advantage;
  • Familiarity with CMS, Adobe, and Google Suite is an advantage;

  • 5 WORKING RELATIONSHIPS

    Internal:

    Interacts frequently with other departments at WWF International, in particular Communications & Marketing, as well as WWF National and Country Offices.

    External:

    Interacts with senior staff in corporate companies and media. Represents WWF towards companies that are potential or active engagement partners.
