Als Product Engineer zorg jij voor het uitwerken van productconcepten. Dit omvat de analyse van zowel het ontwerp, de constructieve eigenschappen als de maakbaarheid van een productconcept, resulterend in een volledig ontwerp dat gestandaardiseerd kan worden. Je maakt hierbij gebruik van CREO (3D) en Windchill (PLM) software. Hoewel je werkpakketten zelfstandig uitvoert, werk je altijd samen met een Product Developer en/of Product Manager. Voor eventuele constructieve onderbouwingen werk je nauw samen met de R&D Engineers op de afdeling. Daarnaast speel je een adviserende en begeleidende rol voor medewerkers met betrekking tot de diverse technische oplossingen binnen onze product scope en applicaties.
Je maakt deel uit van het Research Development & Products team, dat onderdeel is van de afdeling Products & Technology. Deze afdeling bestaat uit meer dan 20 collega's die zich bezighouden met het ontwerpen en beheren van productgroepen en softwareapplicaties voor onze systemen. Wat houdt je werk in?
In deze rol werk je aan het uitwerken van diverse productconcepten, waarbij het initiatief wordt genomen door de Product Manager en/of Product Developer. Samen analyseer je de benodigde functies, constructieve eigenschappen en maakbaarheid om tot de vastlegging van een nieuw concept te komen. Het nieuwe concept wordt vervolgens aangeboden voor uiteindelijke standaardisatie. Je draagt de verantwoordelijkheid voor je toegewezen werkpakket, waarbij je let op planning en mogelijk de kosten voor je ontwerp onderbouwt. Tijdens je werkzaamheden onderhoud je contacten met medewerkers van andere afdelingen, zoals de commerciële-, technische-, productie-, kwaliteit en inkoopafdelingen, met betrekking tot product- en systeemontwikkelingen.
