- Je hebt een afgeronde opleiding (Technische) Geneeskunde, Biomedisch Technologie, Klinische Technologie, KNF-laborant of verwante medische en/of technologische studierichting.
- Ervaring met klinisch neurofysiologisch (KNF) onderzoek in het ziekenhuis, met name gericht op het perifere zenuwstelsel, en aantoonbare vaardigheden met complexe statistische methoden is een pre.
- Je hebt een groot verantwoordelijkheidsgevoel voor het zelfstandig opzetten en uitvoeren van wetenschappelijk onderzoek.

De promovendus/(arts-)onderzoeker draagt de verantwoordelijkheid voor het zelfstandig opzetten en uitvoeren van wetenschappelijk onderzoek. Het onderzoek concentreert zich op de opzet, uitvoer en analyse van geavanceerde neurofysiologische technieken, met specifieke aandacht voor elektromyografische (EMG) metingen, in klinische studies bij mensen met neuromusculaire aandoeningen, waaronder met name amyotrofische laterale sclerose (ALS).
De functie omvat direct contact met patiënten en nauwe samenwerking met artsen, verpleegkundigen, laboranten, technici en andere onderzoekers. Een cruciaal aspect van de functie omvat ook de statistiek en methodologie van klinische studies en medicijnstudies.
Daarbij maak je gebruik van beschikbare neurofysiologische gegevens om beter begrip te krijgen van ziekteprocessen en ziektebeloop, en om verbeteringen te implementeren in medicijnonderzoek bij ALS. Denk aan het nauwkeuriger bepalen van een behandeleffect, middels combinatie van meerdere uitkomstmaten tot een samengestelde uitkomstmaat. Daarnaast heb je ook interesse in het geven van onderwijs en training ter bevordering van de implementatie van neurofysiologische technieken en het ondersteunen van lopende klinische (medicijn)studies.
Hier ga je werken
De Neurologie & Neurochirurgie bestaat uit verschillende zorglijnen. In plaats van een indeling in afdelingen en medisch specialismen zijn de zorglijnen geformeerd rondom de topreferente patiëntengroepen met de daaraan gekoppelde onderzoekslijnen.
Binnen deze onderzoeksgroep wordt met name onderzoek gedaan naar de neuromusculaire ziekte amyotrofische laterale sclerose (ALS). De onderzoeksgroep richt zich op onderzoek naar het betrouwbaar stellen van de diagnose en het vinden van mogelijke aanknopingspunten in het ontstaan en verloop van de ziekten. Het betreft observationeel en functioneel onderzoek vanuit de neurofysiologie, neuromechanica, epidemiologie, genetica en neuro-imaging. Deze groep behoort tot de internationale top in onderzoek op dit gebied. Daarnaast worden er klinische (medicijn) studies uitgevoerd, zowel gesponsord als investigator-initiated.
