    Job description

    We are looking for a new colleague to help us with our teaching duties. Within the School of Business and Economics at VU University Amsterdam, we are we are responsible for various courses in the field of International Strategy. This includes courses in MSc. Business Administration in (i) International Management and (ii) Strategy and Organization, the Bachelor of Business Administration, and the Bachelor of International Business Administration. Our teaching is innovative and interactive, combining scientific depth with practical application. Coordinating and teaching these subjects is teamwork: cooperation with colleagues is key.

    The teaching will lean heavily towards International Business/Strategy. The prerequisite is that you have a university Master's degree completed in International Business or Strategic Management with a strong international component. A successfully completed PhD/DBA or studying towards a PhD/DBA is a plus but not a requirement.

    The position is for a fixed term of one year. The department might decide to renew the contract up to three years.

    Your duties
  • Providing (and possibly coordinating) courses in the field of International Strategy and Strategic Management in our Bachelor's and Master's programmes.
  • Supervision of Bachelor's, Premaster's and possibly Master's theses.

    • Requirements

  • Completed Master's degree in International Business or similar area.
  • Demonstrated skills in academic teaching at Bachelor and Master level.
  • Ability to teach in English. Additional ability to teach in Dutch is a plus.

    • What are we offering?

    A challenging position in a socially involved organization. On full-time basis the remuneration amounts to a minimum gross monthly salary of €3,226 (scale 10)
    and a maximum €5,090 (scale 10), depending on your education and experience. The job profile: is based on the university job ranking system and is vacant for at least 0.8 FTE.
    We aim for a start date as soon as possible but no later than 1 March 2024.

    The initial employment contract will affect a period of 1 year.
    Additionally, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam offers excellent fringe benefits and various schemes and regulations to promote a good work/life balance, such as:
  • a maximum of 41 days of annual leave based on full-time employment,
  • 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end-of-year bonus,
  • solid pension scheme (ABP), contribution to commuting expenses
