Are you interested in the distribution of bulk liquids operated by the world's largest and most sophisticated fleet of chemical and parcel tankers, with over 100 deep-sea ships?


We are looking for a Demurrage Manager who navigates the team (4 FTE) true all claims and billing activities related to the charter party and towards the customer.

You and your team are responsible for the efficient and thorough management of freight & dead freight, demurrage and rebill claims.

What you will be doing

You will have the opportunity to make strategic decisions and have the chance to make a tangible impact on the efficiency and profitability of shipping operations.

Overall, being a Demurrage Manager means you are navigating your team in the fast-paced nature of the industry. Your objectives are to minimize overdue, optimize demurrage claims and disputes handling and to avoid excessive provisions and/or write-offs. You are effectively managing direct reports and GSSC staff, promoting a collaborative though influencing leadership style.


Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing demurrage activities, guiding/coaching of Demurrage Supervisor, Senior Demurrage analyst and Demurrage analyst.
  • Responsible for managing all Freight and Rebill activities are billed timely and correctly.
  • Guiding and coaching of Billing supervisor and Accountants.
  • Review of terms / conditions / COA + CCD review in liaison with commercial and legal
  • Responsible for damage, force majeure and dead freight claims and the coordination of settlement activities with commercial and legal team.
  • Manage KPI's for the entire team and ensure that KPI's are on track.
  • Manage collection activities in coordination with the Shared Service Center GSSC.
  • Manage correct escalation / legal action of overdue freight/rebills and disputed demurrage claims.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, maritime, or technical degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar role of which 3 years should be at managerial level.
  • Ability to make decisions in the absence of management.
  • Excellent communication skills, excellent conflict resolution and problemsolving skills.
  • Ability to train, coach, evaluate and mentor.
  • Ability to build network with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Oracle and IMOS software experience is a plus.
