- Design experiments, set-ups, or pilots for research purposes.
- Develop standardized methods for lab and pilot research.
- Work safely with hazardous chemicals in a lab environment
- Prepare complete and accurate test reports based on data generated by testing and data analysis.
- Develop design documentation for new products, such as FMEA, Design Validation Plan & Report, and Product Validation Plans.
- Lead teams in smaller projects and be the (lead) engineer in bigger R&D projects.
- Set-up (sub)project plans. Report and present project status with financials to leadership.
- Work together with customers in field tests, first introduction of new technology or troubleshooting, both remote and customer sites.
- Instruct, collaborate with and mentor other scientists, lab engineers, technicians, graduate students and interns.
- Maintain and set-up contact with (inter)national research institutes and universities.
- Give lectures at conferences/ seminars.
- MSc or Ph.D. degree in Process Technology, Chemical Engineering or similar.
- 5-10 years working experience in Food and Beverage processes, preferably beer or dairy.
- Hollow fibre membrane or other filtration technology experience preferred.
- Mathematical data processing skills, e.g. Matlab, minitab, Python, MS Office.
- Experience with/ knowledge of Research project management.
- Good communication skills (verbal and written) in English. Dutch proficiency is a plus.

We have an opportunity for a Researcher Food and Beverage to join our Enschede, the Netherlands team. You will develop and validate hollow fiber membrane related processes from a proof of principle scale to pilot scale to full scale at customer sites. Part of your role will be to create and improve theoretical models to simulate and improve processes or to assist engineering of skids and plants for our products. And in practice you will work on collecting, processing, and analyzing process data to form conclusions and recommendations. We are looking for a Researcher that combines a firm knowledge base with enthusiasm, team spirit and creativity. Moreover, you are result oriented and have good organizational skills.
