    Senior System Architect - Machine Control & Automation

    Start Date: As Soon As Possible

    Assignment Duration: 1 year

    Location: Eindhoven

    We are looking for an experienced Systems Architect with a solid background in mechatronics and motion control software design to lead our Machine Control Software department at Philips Innovation Engineering. In this position, you will take charge of the architecture, design, and integration of software and electrical components for high-precision medical equipment used in testing and production. Working in a dynamic team setting, your main focus will be on advanced machine control, precise measurements, and electrical systems, ensuring optimal performance in complex mechatronic devices.

    Responsibilities:

    • Designing complete production lines or machines, with a focus on manufacturing efficiency, scalability, and adaptability.
    • Structuring workflow processes to meet evolving customer requirements and maintain technological competitiveness, emphasizing continuous improvement through feedback.
    • Offering detailed insights to project leaders, commercial departments, and management to support well-informed decision-making.
    • Developing a solid software architecture strategy that aligns with long- and short-term goals, and proactively handling potential conflicts in requirements.
    • Collaborating closely with multi-disciplinary teams such as mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, and software developers to ensure smooth hardware and software integration.
    • Establishing precise definitions for system components and interfaces to guarantee seamless integration and efficient deployment, while adhering to high-level functional and non-functional requirements.
    • Keeping abreast of the latest developments in mechatronics, motion control technologies, and PLC/Twincat platforms to drive innovation and ongoing enhancement.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
    • Demonstrated expertise (over 10 years) in architectural design for manufacturing process automation, test equipment development, machine construction, or motion control systems, with a minimum of 3-4 years as a Systems Architect.
    • Extensive knowledge and practical experience with PLC beckhoff and Twincat platforms.
    • Thorough understanding of mechatronics principles and their application in system design.
    • Proficiency in system modeling, simulation, and analysis tools.
    • Willingness to travel up to 25% for work at customer sites.
    • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
