Over Daniel Garcia:
• Self-motivated and independent decision-maker with experience in the study of the chemical and structural composition of surfaces.
• Excellent relationship builder with the ability to create and analyze materials in different systems as demonstrated by three cross-functional collaborations.
• Expert in fabrication and characterization techniques in extreme conditions. Eager to use my knowledge to provide practical solutions to technical issues.
Ervaring
Material and surface science
Full-time
Dates EmployedMar 2017 – Present
Employment Duration4 yrs 9 mos
LocationEindhoven y alrededores, Países Bajos
• Created materials in ultra-clean (ultra-high vacuum) environments and diagnosed the cleanliness of surfaces using different diagnostic tools such as XPS, AES, LEED, among others. Ability to detect and quantify the root cause of contaminants on surfaces using proper quantification analysis.
• Worked independently in Synchrotrons and ultra-clean environments, where machine conditioning and troubleshooting is mandatory for the proper acquisition of data.
• Learnt how to solve problems in short periods of time in facilities all around Europe, where the time granted is limited.
• Knowledge to determine contamination sources in samples and machines, using techniques like helium testing with a mass spectrometer.
• Designed and optimized new experiments for material fabrication with minimum contaminant concentration. New fabrication methods involve new technical challenges and new problems that need to be solved with limited time.
Cross-functional collaborations
Full-time
Dates EmployedMar 2017 – Present
Employment Duration4 yrs 9 mos
LocationEindhoven, North Brabant, Netherlands
• Provided coaching and guidance to new PhD members and exchange students about every aspect of mastering an ultra-high vacuum system and how to optimize analytical protocols.
• Analyzed and designed new material fabrication methods during my research stay in Aarhus, Denmark, in 2019, where different multidisciplinary teams collaborated to develop new materials in a free contaminant set-up.
• Created technical/academic reports and road maps for the projects among the different stakeholders.
