- Provide independent and objective assurance and advice in relation to ESG;
- Conduct reviews in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Ireland and Belgium;
- Communicate with all levels in our organisation and collaborate strongly with second line functions (e.g. Sustainability, ESG reporting, Procurement, HR, SHEQ, IT). Regular reporting and discussing improvement areas with divisional and business senior management is part of your job;
- Advise on good practices and improvements that can be made regarding governance, risk management and control;
- Participate in other Internal Audit activities depending on capacity and expertise required.
- A salary between 6.640,- and 8.300,- gross per month, depending on your knowledge and experience. This is based on a 40-hour working week and excludes 8% holiday pay;
- Good secondary employment conditions in accordance with the Construction and Infrastructure collective labor agreement, such as a budget for sustainable employability (2,18%), variable compensation, 25 vacation days, 15 schedule free days and 3 short-term absenteeism days per calendar year;
- Reimbursement of your travel costs (100% public transport or a kilometer allowance), laptop and iPhone;

- Demonstrable Sustainability risk management and/or auditing experience, preferably in large/listed companies;
- A graduate degree in auditing with a minimum of 10 years relevant working experience, including soft control assessments;
- Good knowledge of and experience with ESG requirements like CSRD, ESRS, CSDDD;
- Proficiency in English communication; Dutch proficiency is preferred;
- Strong analytical, organizational, stakeholder management, influencing, and collaborative skills, with international construction industry experience as a plus.

What are you going to do
Your role focuses on providing assurance and advisory services regarding Sustainability, including governance, risk management, data collection and cultural aspects. Emphasis is on the internal strategy and organization, with attention to external reporting requirements and collaboration with external assurance providers. Working with an enthusiastic and skilled team of five direct colleagues and guest auditors, you will evaluate activities, monitor action plans, and promote knowledge sharing within BAM. BAM Internal Audit supports strategy realization through insights and advice on organizational efficiency and effectiveness. The team is generally perceived as a trusted business partner that collaborates throughout the Group and across functions, reporting to senior management, the Executive Committee and the Audit Committee. Based in Bunnik, they regularly travel to BAM locations in the Netherlands, UK, Ireland, and Belgium.
