    ABOUT HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS

    THE POSITION

    As a Sous Chef, you will work closely with the Cluster Chef to ensure the right quality of food is served to our guests. In Amsterdam North you need to be able to handle the work that comes with a hotel with 438 rooms, 2 meeting rooms, busy breakfast, and a restaurant with 60 covers. We serve large volumes of guests, in buffet-style and a la carte. You should have experience in managing a kitchen, creating menus, and ensuring food safety standards are met. You should also be able to work well under pressure and have good communication skills. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to showcase your creativity and skills while working in a dynamic and supportive environment.

    • Assist in the preparation and cooking of food items.
    • Ensure all food is prepared to the standard and presented in an attractive manner.
    • Supervise and train kitchen staff.
    • Process administrative tasks.
    • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen.
    • Assist with menu planning and inventory management.


    YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking and a strong desire to create exceptional dining experiences for our guests.

    • Assisting the Cluster Chef in menu planning and development.
    • Preparing and cooking dishes for lunch and dinner; including buffets.
    • Supervising and training junior chefs and kitchen staff.
    • Ensuring that all food safety and hygiene regulations are followed.
    • Maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.
    • Assisting with inventory management and ordering of supplies.
    • Help with scheduling, invoices, HACCP registration, and ordering when the Cluster Chef is away.
    • Collaborating with other departments to ensure smooth running of the kitchen.


    WHAT YOU'LL BRING

    • Speaking English, the Dutch language is a plus.
    • Experience with Hospitality is a plus.
