Alex Sueiras

My name is Alex Sueiras, I'm from Barcelona but I have recently moved to the Netherlands to continue developing my filmmaking skills. I work both as a Cinematographer and a Camera Assistant, mostly as a Focus Puller. I have a lot of experience shooting on Digital and Film Cinema Cameras. I have also worked as a freelance filmmaker so I have some experience directing for small shoots. I also invested a lot of time on learning how to use Davinci Resolve and I have done some jobs as a Colorist as well. Even though I love shooting I also like color grading but also editing and doing some VFX. 

I have worked as a Cinematographer in many projects, especially Short Films but also on Commercials and Music Videos.

I have mostly worked in the camera department, mainly as a focus puller for a feature film, many high-end shortfilms, commercials and music videos.

I have also worked a lot as a freelance filmmaker and photographer creating promotional videos, small commercials, filming events and ceremonies and a documentary.

I finished High School when I was 17, I studied at the German School of Barcelona; all my classes and exams were in German, so I am fluent in English, German, Spanish and Catalan.

Then I started Film School at ESCAC, one of the best filmmaking universities in Spain and Europe, taking classes from many great filmmakers in the Spanish film industry. This was a 4 year Bachelor, in which the first two years are spent understanding the filmic language through all diferent departments involved in the creation of a film, such as directing, editing, producing, sound and art direction. In the last two years of the studies I specialized on direction of photogtaphy where I learned lighting and visual story-telling through a lot of practical exercises and intense theoretical classes.
