    The Opportunity:

    ING is seeking an experienced full stack engineer with a strong focus on front-end technology to establish the foundation of our web channels, ensuring the optimal user experience for our customers. We are looking for an engineer with modern engineering skills, including innovation, creativity, attention to detail, and effective communication.

    The Team:

    The Customer Data Area within ING Bank NL plays a crucial role in providing essential products and services for our customers' daily financial needs. The seamless access to customer data is vital for various banking processes, such as transactions, mortgages, and business loans. Our team ensures customers have control over their personal data and roles, delivering top-notch digital experiences. By managing customer data flows, we facilitate all customer interactions with the bank.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

    • A motivated engineer collaborating in a diverse international team.
    • Contributing to enhancing the skills of fellow engineers and refining processes within ING.
    • Proficient full stack engineer with a strong emphasis on front-end development.
    • Profound JavaScript developer with expertise in TypeScript, NodeJS, and NPM.
    • Familiarity with the latest JavaScript versions, Web Components technology, and design patterns.
    • Experience with front-end architecture and backend technologies like REST API's, Java Spring, and cloud services.
    • Encouraging continuous learning, curiosity, and accountability.
    • Support for personal growth and development into a better version of yourself.

    How to succeed

    Sharp analytical skills and a grasp of technical concepts. Stay updated on software development trends and possess excellent communication abilities to convey complex ideas to non-tech individuals. Fluent in English, a team player participating in social squad events and ING activities.

    • A degree in computer science or relevant field.
    • 4-5 years of software engineering experience, particularly in creating scalable, secure applications.
    • Proficiency in Front-end development with JavaScript (ES5/ES6), HTML, and CSS.
    • Knowledge of front-end frameworks and experience in Web components using Angular 8+, ReactJS, Polymer, or Lit-HTML/Lit-Element.
    • Experience in setting up pipeline configurations and test automation.
    • Proficiency in JSON, REST, web-services, and microservice architecture.
    • Familiarity with continuous integration tools like GIT, Azure, Yarn, NPM, and Bower.
    • Strong communication skills and Agile/Scrum or Kanban expertise.
