Job Description

We are looking for an experienced financial (strategic) advisor who enjoys collaborating with others in a politically dynamic environment. Are you skilled at making meetings successful and possessing a talent for digital information? If so, we want to talk to you.

The Province of Zeeland is seeking an experienced:

• Financial strategic, tactical, and operational advisory
• Facilitating and ensuring the quality of information and proposals, providing advice, and handling the organizational and logistical preparation and processing of the meeting and decision-making process regarding the planning and control cycle.
• Proactively monitoring deadlines for providing information and documents and following up on frameworks and commitments.
• Providing advice on complex subjects and decision-making processes, agenda creation, document handling, work methods, available tools, and compliance checking.

• Actively contributing to the development of integrated digital access, management, archiving of decision-making processes and procedures related to the planning and control cycle and compliance with financial regulations for political office holders.
• Initiating activities and meetings that enhance the understanding of council members about the planning and control cycle and the application of political-administrative tools, supporting the decision-making process within a complex political-administrative field.

Requirements

Who We Are Looking For

• Strategic pragmatic individual with a sense of governance relations
• Experience in advisory and digital systems in the field
• Completed relevant HBO or WO education, preferably in finance & control, business economics, business administration, or accountancy.
• Familiarity with (government) finances and relevant laws and regulations (including provincial law, BBV, and WGR).
• Proven track record in financial advisory and processes in (decentralized) government.
• Understanding the importance of sound financial strategic advice in a politically dynamic environment.
• Relevant work experience in financial information management due to rapid changes in digital communication.
