Job description
A PhD position for four years for 1.0 fte is available at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in the Amsterdam Cooperation Lab () headed by Prof. Daniel Balliet at the Vrije Universiteit in Amsterdam.Your duties
You will participate in a collaborative project to further develop the Cooperation Databank () and to conduct experiments on the interaction between humans and A.I.. You will become an expert on the topic of human cooperation and will work towards generalizing the ontology of human cooperation studies to other fields of research. We will work together with computer scientists to develop a method to write a living meta-analytic review of the entire field of research on human cooperation in social dilemmas. This will be a review that will be (semi-)automatically updated with newly published studies. The position will also offer opportunities to collaborate with computer scientists who are working on developing hybrid intelligence – A.I. that cooperates with humans. The position includes the potential to conduct experimental research on this topic.
Requirements
What are we offering?
A challenging position in a socially involved organization. The salary will be in accordance with university regulations for academic personnel and amounts €2,770 (PhD) per month during the first year and increases to €3,539 (PhD) per month during the fourth year, based on a full-time employment. The job profile: is based on the university job ranking system and is vacant for at least 1 FTE.The appointment will initially be for 1 year. After a satisfactory evaluation of the initial appointment, the contract will be extended for a duration of 4 years.
