    Default job background
    Beschrijving
    Clinical proteomics in hemostatic disorders

Congenital and acquired disorders of hemostasis represent a large clinical burden. The mission of the Medical Priority Bleeding & Hemostasis of Sanquin Research is to improve diagnosis and treatment of patients suffering from acquired and genetic bleeding disorders. We are looking for a PhD student, a bio-informatician/post-doc and a technician to join our rapidly expanding team that focuses on mass spectrometry-based approaches to unravel hemostatic disorders. Bio-informatician/post-doc

To bridge the gap between genetics and functionality, we will construct a comprehensive hemostatic disease map by integrating proteogenomics, post-translational modifications, and proteolytic processing signatures of hemostasis in pathophysiological conditions. We will develop novel pipelines to integrate these large and high dimensional data. Thereby you will establish a framework to uncover the key molecular players and pathways in rare or undefined hemostatic disorders both at the individual and patient group level.

    Medical Priority Bleeding and Hemostasis

The medical priority Bleeding and Hemostasis is an international frontrunner in applying state-of-the-art mass spectrometry-based proteomics in the area of benign hematology. We are a vibrant, international group of 35-40 colleagues (consisting of group leaders, postdocs, PhD students and technicians) that study the various aspects of hemostatic networks. Our department has academic affiliations with high-ranking universities in the Netherlands, such as Utrecht University and the University of Amsterdam. The department's research program benefits from excellent research facilities, which include the latest technology for biomolecular mass spectrometry, imaging and cell sorting.

    Requirements for the bio-informatician/post-doc position
  • A MSc or PhD degree in bioinformatics or systems biology, with affinity for mass spectrometry-based proteomics data analysis, multi-omics data integration and proteogenomics.
  • Problem-solving skills and capability to apply knowledge and experience to address complex challenges
  • Good communication skills in English
  • The ability to work efficiently independently, but also in close collaboration with a multidisciplinary and international team composed of highly ambitious young researchers.
  • Conditions of employment
