Postdoctoraal onderzoeker: Project Integrating History in Dutch Public Policy - Nijmegen, Nederland - Radboud University

Beleidsmakers hechten waarde aan geschiedenis. Van een systematische toepassing van historische inzichten en vaardigheden in de beleidspraktijk is echter geen sprake. Het NWO-project Integrating History in Dutch Public Policy: Perceptions, Practices and Interventions onderzoekt waarom dit het geval is. Het project resulteert in de ontwikkeling van interventies voor de structurele verankering van geschiedenis in de Nederlandse beleidspraktijk. Het onderzoek richt zich onder meer op recent beleid in crisistijd (COVID19), de praktijk van medewetgeving en beleidscontrole door de Tweede Kamer en onderwijsbeleid met bijzondere aandacht voor kansengelijkheid.
Als postdoc maak je onderdeel uit van dit projectteam en participeer je in de activiteiten van de research group Applied History van het Radboud Institute for History and Culture. Je onderzoekt aan de hand van uiteenlopende beleidscontexten hoe hedendaagse beleidsmakers nut en meerwaarde van historische kennis, inzichten en vaardigheden percipiëren. Ook breng je in kaart hoe geschiedenis in de beleidspraktijk wordt toegepast en onderzoek je hoe deze toepassing kan worden verbeterd. Je maakt hierbij onder andere gebruik van oral history en kwalitatieve interviews. Je doet schriftelijk verslag van je onderzoek, bespreekt de resultaten met beleidsmakers en publiceert over de gebruikte methodiek en uitkomsten van het onderzoek in peer reviewed tijdschriften en vakbladen. Tevens draag je bij aan de organisatie van een conferentie. Samen met de projectleider en een later te werven tweede postdoc stuur je een junioronderzoeker en student-assistenten aan.
Het geven van onderwijs, tot maximaal 20% van de aanstelling, kan onderdeel van het takenpakket uitmaken. Een kleinere deeltijdaanstelling behoort tot de mogelijkheden.
