    APM Terminals plays a critical role in enabling the global Maersk Ocean and Logistics network as well as serving other Shipping Lines, Beneficial Cargo Owners, Freight Forwarders, intermodal logistics providers and integrating with a wide variety of local port authorities, customs and government bodies across our global network of transshipment, import and export gateway terminals.
    In support of the broader Maersk strategy, we are accelerating the transformation of our business from a portfolio of independently operated terminals into a safer, better, bigger global terminals operator.

    We Offer

    This is an exciting career opportunity, where you report to to the Lead Finance Business Partner – Technical in an international, challenging business setting known for diversity and high paced environment.

  • You will support the Global CFO to drive performance management within the capital expenditure processes and terminal-regional-global CFFI forecasting.
  • As trusted business partner to the relevant global functions you will establish standards for CAPEX Projects and CFFI forecast.
  • To structure CAPEX standardization and controls you will build competency and processes within APMT
  • You are responsible for developing and taking ownership of the tools needed to manage and control CAPEX and CFFI effectively and transparently
  • Perform the necessary periodic audits of terminal CAPEX and CFFI forecast and both challenge and require adherence to standards
  • Ensures that the financial performance is transparent, as predictable as possible and that non-achievement of targets is recognized early and addressed with appropriate measures
  • Continuous improvement through focus on performance metrics
  • Assures that the drivers and levers for achieving the business targets are well understood and applied appropriately
  • Maintains a solid understanding of the terminal business and drivers for capital expenditures

    • PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

    Build, maintain and continuously improve a global structure that ensures global capital expenditures and associated CFFI (Cash Flow From Investments) and accurate, transparent and are based on approved global standards.

    Take leadership role to establish Global Capex Control function

  • Coordinate with global functions (Asset Maintenance, Project Execution, IT, Automation, Decarbonization, Global Ops-FLOW, Procurement, Asset Design & Engineering) to establish and enforce standards
  • Own, maintain and control process flows associated to the various types of capital investments
  • Coordinate the overall planning process (in line with functional planning guideline/instructions) for the respective functions including required alignment with Financial Leadership and the other functional controllers
  • Ensure deadlines for planning and forecasting are met
  • Take ownership of the PMWeb data and Capex Visibility Initiative
  • Establish criteria for further tools or enhancements to existing systems related to capital expenditure and CFFI
  • Establish cascade and criteria for monthly, quarterly and annual CAPEX/CFFI forecasting reporting and accuracy within the APMT Way of Working

    • Drive performance management

  • Focus area of equipment replacement cycle and adherence to asset design & engineering specification standards, asset maintenance replacement standards and procurement pricing and payment standards
  • Focus on overall investment timelines from PMWeb project creation to procurement cycle to implementation and payment cycles
  • Perform periodic and detailed terminal-based capex budget and CFFI reviews and assurance of adherence of standards
  • Ensure Project Execution project budget and CFFI standards implemented per project and via relevant Finance Business Partner and Terminal CFO
  • Alignment of transformation initiatives such as Automation, Decarbonization and Global Ops-FLOW and terminal capital expenditure budgets
  • Perform independent data analysis and control for capital expenditures projects entered into PMWeb
  • Partner with Regional CFO and Finance Business Partners to ensure broad based control, compliance and performance
  • Check quality and plausibility of reporting data. Ensure that required periodic reporting is in accordance with APMT Reporting Guidelines
  • Define, implement, and track adequate countermeasures and improvement measures together with the Head of Finance and Head of function to react to identify gaps vs. targets and / or to adapt the organization to agreed changes

    • Business partner to the Management Team

  • Facilitate decision making based on financial analysis and insights and translate business intelligence to stakeholders.
  • Improve short- and long-term performance through relevant, accurate and timely reporting and analysis. Responsible for business intelligence and analytics to support decision on capex and CFFI decisions
  • Create value-based steering of Global Functions - e.g. by supporting/providing predictive modelling, forecasting/extrapolation and or statistical analysis
  • Provide data-based insight for potential investments to improve the accuracy of capital expenditure budgets and CFFI forecast
  • Harmonize and improve business processes where possible and reasonable
  • Drive the investment operating system and work according to lean principles

    • Who are we looking for?

  • Master's degree in Finance, Accounting of Business Economics (Preferred)
  • From 7-9 years of experience with Financial Business Partnering or Controlling.
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong communications, advising and influencing skills
  • Excellent skills of BI tools, Excel, MS Office
  • PMWeb experience a plus
  • Is inquisitive, pro-active, builds relationships quickly
  • Quality and detail oriented
  • Integrity and Compliance at highest levels
