Over Ana Burtea:

I have recently graduated from BA International Communication (Hanze UAS, Groningen), not only with knowledge, school project experience and an Honours degree, but also with 4 years of experience as a junior specialist within the International Marketing Team of Hanze UAS. My strong points are working with an international and diverse target audience, online campaigns (from concept, to branding, and all the way down to the execution), and being a front-person for the customers, but also a coach and coordinator.

I have long-term experience with events organising, creative marketing and graphic design/video editing/copywriting, and while I am looking for a full-time job in an organisation, I am working for an agency on various projects for clients from diverse industries and backgrounds (organisations for female entrepreneurship, that sell juice, hair products, make-up, B2B, mentorship programmes etc.).

WORK EXPERIENCE 

International Marketing (Recruitment) Team, Hanze University of Applied Sciences

Junior Specialist (2022 – present)

Content marketing & communication:

  • Content creation for specific target groups in various stages of customer journey (open days, online events)
  • Support in development and implementation of content strategies to effectively reach target audiences.
  • Support the development of key messaging and themes, including those which contribute to the organization’s core communication collaterals (internal and external)
  • Developed social media strategies/plans for communications efforts, campaigns, and key events and creation of content on various platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube & Tiktok).
  • Content development support for large scale study choice events in collaboration with key account managers for various countries.
  • Social listening, monitoring, and responding to the target group, analysing audience sentiment, and soliciting feedback from the target audiences. 
  • Support in the production of analytics reports and providing recommendations on improvement points.

Lead nurturing and CRM

  • Developed an international study choice journey tool as support for the team and prospective students.
  • CRM touchpoints research among applicants and enrolment.
  • Organised, coordinated, and participated in call sessions. Answered prospective students and parents’ inquiries about study choice journey and practical matters in person and via email, social media, and WhatsApp.

Represented Hanze UAS and supported the international prospective students’ study choice journey:

  • at fairs hosted by external providers or agents abroad (Romania 6 fairs, Portugal 2 fairs)
  • during online events hosted by external providers or agents (10 online events, for Romania, Lithuania, Poland, Cyprus and Global)
  • during in-house events:  Participated in organisation and coordination of 4 physical and 6-7 online large-scale events per year by  recruiting and training students, creating visuals, developing content, organising information sessions, supporting visitors’ study choice. Organised 11 in-house online events and participated as host, presenter, or chat moderator.

Administrative support: Designed and printed promotional materials and visuals on various occasions. Organised shipment of promotional materials to 9 fair locations. Managed inventory for 5 months and organised packaging of goodie bags before 7 events. Co-organised 3 photoshoots with student ambassadors for promotional purposes. Enhanced visitors experience with video guides for open day. Edited recordings of 7 webinars and uploaded to social media. 

Recruitment, training, and coordination of the student ambassadors’ team: Recruited 6 students over the course of 5 months and supervised around 25 student ambassadors. Administrated payment declarations over the course of 6 months. Coordinated groups of student ambassadors on over 20 occasions (training and coaching, preparation before and during events).

 

PROJECTS

Engineering portfolio branding campaign (Jan – April 2023)

Key insights through target group research which contributed to the outcome of the project and created the visuals for the branding of the project.

Graduation Assignment (Jan – August 2023, ongoing)

Market research & designing a communication strategy in support of current recruitment activities of International Marketing Team’s goals: improve retention rate, increase application & enrolment to technical English-taught programs, & improve and update current communication approach to better suit the target group’s needs. 

Study choice online event with an external provider (Romania, December 2022)

In touch with agent, developed content that supports study choice featuring student experiences for the presentation, coordinated, and coached 2 ambassador presenters, hosted Hanze’s presentation session.

Communication Intern – 40hrs/week (5 months, Jan – July 2022) 

Project lead in a large-scale online conversion communication product for international prospective students which was positively received. Content creation for promotion and the event itself, came up with innovative solutions in time-pressured situations to solve unexpected impediments, crisis communication approach, facilitation, and visual communication.

International Office, Housing Office support – 2 months (August – October 2022) 

Answering inquiries about accommodation and consulting around 50 students in their process of finding accommodation (through email and in-person).

Forbes (Bucharest, Romania) – 6 months (2 summer internships, 2017-2018).
