Introduction to the job


As Team Lead SOC - Coordination & Delivery you play a key role in shaping ASML's future in the Security Risk Management domain.


Role and responsibilities
In this role you will act as the backup for the Head of SIRT.

Together are responsible for minimizing business impact of security control failures by developing and maintaining the Security Operations Competence and Security Incident response competency companywide.

You and the Service Delivery manager will lead on Service Delivery improvements for the SIRT. You will lead the 3rd line Incident Response Coordinators, working together with team leads Operations Monitoring and Incident Response.

This brings the Detect & Respond capabilities of the NIST framework to ASML, consisting of Security Specialists across the various teams.

Your focus areas are related to Security Defense Operations. You have a clear vision on and drive towards service and assurance development in this domain.

You will ensure that services are aligned to deliver maximum value to ASML, in close collaboration with other Security Functions in Risk and Business Assurance (RBA) as well as the Sectors and Business Lines.


As Team Lead SOC - Coordination & Delivery you will have global responsibility for Security Incident management, engaging in this capacity with various support functions (Legal, IT, HR and others) to coordinate an effective Incident Response.

You will engage at all levels of the company including the Board of Management and ExCom levels.

The global nature entails the service coverage for global 24x7 response and as such the regional alignment with stakeholders and the further development of the delivery model.

You will be responsible for, but not limited to:


  • Team Development: Develop teams encompassing Security Operations Monitoring, Security Incident Response and Security Incident Coordination and secure an environment for personal development and growth. Security control innovation is a cornerstone of competence development of the team.
  • Stakeholder Management: Develop strong relations with all levels of the organization. A main focus area is the cross sectoral and regional collaboration when it comes to Incident Response and Impact minimization. Be seen and recognized as an ASML authority for Security Incident management globally.
  • Portfolio Management: Drive improvements for the Security Detect & Respond domain across the Security Portfolio and other portfolios where needed, interfacing with the Security Technology support functions within RBA Security Expertise. Act as senior user in complex security projects focusing on improvements in Incident Response & Detection for Security that have impact across ASML. Take ownership for and have indepth understanding of key project content, critical path and project dependencies.


You will ensure that the Operational Security Risks are managed to the best economic advantage of the company and the mitigations in place are cost effective.

Additionally, you will be responsible for managing a strong working relationship with their peers across IT, IT Security and ASML Sectors organization and coordinating the response to security incidents for ASML globally.


Education and experience
In this position, it is important that you have excellent leadership, influencing and interpersonal skills.

You possess excellent analytical skills, can think through complex problems, determine proper analytical processes and procedures, independently derive conclusions and present results to management.

You have the ability to build strong, trusting relationships with customers and suppliers.


You have excellent verbal and written communication skills, are able to summarize and communicate technical data to a non-technical audience.

Furthermore, you have the ability to coordinate complex troubleshooting activities and keep overview over complex stakeholder landscape.

Ideally, you will bring these competences and skills to the table:

  • 10+ years professional experience with a focus on information systems security
  • 5+ years professional experience leading a team and managing services and delivery.
  • Able to develop, implement and monitor a longterm information security strategy.
  • Sound understanding of security technologies, techniques and best practices.
  • Able to design and maintain a (privacy)compliant IT Security monitoring and incident response capability.
  • Master's degree working and thinking level.


This role will require occasional international travel and will have 24x7 escalation responsibilities in case of major incident response as final escalation point on a rotational basis.
