Overview:

The Statutory Accounting Director will play a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting in accordance with both local Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) related to our companies operating in Europe and APAC.

This position requires a thorough understanding of accounting principles, regulations, and reporting requirements across various jurisdictions.

Responsibilities:

Research, analyze, and implement accounting guidance updates and changes to ensure adherence to evolving regulatory requirements.
Identify and communicate accounting issues, risks, and opportunities to senior management.
Provide technical accounting expertise and guidance to crossfunctional teams, including the rest of the statutory team, tax, and the boarder finance organization supporting Europe and APAC.
Stay abreast of emerging accounting standards, trends, and best practices to proactively address potential impacts on financial reporting.
Document accounting conclusions and disclosure implications for a variety of topics, supporting complex accounting issues such as impairment.
Provide training and support to finance and accounting teams on technical accounting matters.
Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls to enhance financial reporting integrity.
Lead the preparation and review of financial statements and disclosures for compliance with local GAAP and IFRS.
Reviewing the statutory adjustments and reviewing the bridge to statutory financial statements.
Reviewing the statutory financial statements in terms of completeness and accuracy.
Support internal and external audit processes by providing documentation and explanations of accounting treatments and policies.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in accounting; Chartered Accountant or CPA certification preferred
Extensive knowledge of local GAAP and IFRS standards and regulations
Minimum of 7 years of experience in technical accounting roles, preferably in a multinational corporation or public accounting firm
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fastpaced environment
Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting software
