Enhancing Connectivity

As a Splunk Engineer, you will hold a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our Splunk platform. Your main task is to guarantee efficient and secure collection, analysis, and visualization of operational data. How you tackle this challenge is entirely up to you. We believe in your ability to strive for improvement each day. You will be responsible for:

• Designing, implementing, managing, and enhancing Schiphol's Splunk platform.
• Creating and maintaining data inputs, forwarders, and custom scripts for effective data collection and forwarding.
• Collaborating with teams across various airport departments to identify and implement data sources, extraction, and parsing requirements to meet their specific needs.
• Developing and optimizing custom Splunk queries, dashboards, and alerts for monitoring and troubleshooting, tailored to different teams' unique needs.
• Monitoring the Splunk infrastructure, conducting regular system maintenance, and resolving issues promptly.
• Ensuring the security and compliance of the Splunk environment, including access controls, data protection, and retention policies, and aiding other teams in maintaining these standards.
• Performing upgrades and updates to the Splunk platform, keeping it up-to-date with the latest features and security patches, and assisting in incorporating new technologies.
• Providing training and support to IT staff and end-users in other departments on best practices for utilizing Splunk to foster a collaborative and knowledge-sharing atmosphere.

Your Skillset

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience (3+ years) in working with Splunk, covering design, implementation, and maintenance.
• Preferably, a Splunk certification (e.g., Splunk Certified Administrator).
• Solid knowledge of data collection, parsing, and indexing strategies.
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell) for automation and customization tasks.
• Understanding of IT security and compliance standards relating to log management.

• Monthly gross salary range of €4,400.76 to €6,127.68 (Scale 11).
