    About the job

    At the global head office in Breda we are looking for an International Tax Manager who wants to strengthen the Group Tax function. You will report to the Group Tax Director and will be part of the Group Finance team.

    The International Tax Manager will be responsible for managing various corporate income tax topics, with a focus on the Netherlands and Europe. You will manage the head-office tax position, which includes responsibility for withholding tax on interest, royalty's and dividends, country-by-country-reporting and Pillar II. The International Tax Manager will also be responsible for transfer pricing, both in relation to the various head-office charges but also in relation to the European principal model. This position requires frequent interaction and close cooperation with (senior) business leaders within the organization, including regional and local finance people.

    Roles and Responsibilities

    More specifically, as Senior International Tax Manager you will:

    • Support the Group Tax Director in managing and shaping the direct tax strategy.

    • Identify opportunities to improve the global corporate income tax position and lead various tax projects and initiatives on direct tax and transfer pricing,

    • Shape the global tax processes, procedures and controls around direct tax.

    • Drive the implementation of a centralized business model in Europe.

    • Manage various restructuring initiatives within the group, including (de-)mergers, liquidations, setting-up or conversion of branch offices.

    • Involvement in negotiating tax rulings on direct tax topics.

    • Manage the Dutch corporate income tax position and support in discussions with the Dutch tax authorities.

    • Have responsibility for the corporate income tax return of the Dutch fiscal unity (preparation outsourced to BIG4).

    • Manage the global transfer pricing engagement (TP documentation preparation is outsourced to BIG4), including ensure proper IC agreements are in place.

    • Implement tax tooling for country-by-country-reporting and tax provisioning.

    • Support local operating companies in dealing with queries from local tax authorities, managing tax audits and tax litigations.

    • Act as business partner for the Global Functions and local operating company Finance Directors and Tax Managers.

    The role is based in Breda, the Netherlands, with the possibility for hybrid working. Travelling to our entities abroad is involved (10%).

    The ideal recipe of our International Tax Manager

    You are energetic and building easily your relationships in the organization. You can communicate on different levels within the organization in a pleasant and positive way to get things done and bring it to the next level.     The ideal candidate has a university degree in (Dutch) Tax Law or Fiscal Economics and 6-9 years of relevant work experience within an international tax practice (preferably BIG 4) and/or inhouse tax role.

    Knowledge, Skills, And Capabilities

    • Strong technical knowledge of direct tax in an international environment

    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • Experience in managing tax audits and resolving disputes with local tax authorities

    • Both technical knowledge and practical working experience with transfer pricing,

    • Experience in managing taxes within centralized business models is considered a plus

    • Able to work independently and move challenging projects forward

    • Have a hands-on mentality

    Strong communication skills (both oral and written) in Dutch and English are required.

    As our International Tax Manager you will report to the Group Tax Director and will be part of the wider Group Finance team, which is located in Breda. On a day-to-day basis you will work closely with the other Global Functions and finance and tax colleagues in the 35+ countries in which PVM is active.

    The Group Tax department sets the global tax strategy and at the same time focuses on compliance, control, efficiency, and optimization of all taxes. This requires the department to monitor all tax developments, have a good understanding of the business, the related processes, systems and tax risks.
