For our offices in the Netherlands, we are now recruiting a legal counsel to support its growth ambitions in the Netherlands, Belgium, DACH (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) and Hong Kong.
Cooper Consumer Health's legal team is based in the Netherlands (Diemen) France (Paris) and Italy (Milan).


You are part of the legal team lead by the Head of International Legal Affairs. You will work for all our affiliates in Northern Europe and Hong Kong. Your work will mainly include corporate and commercial legal matters, including reviewing, drafting, and negotiating complex agreements and you will be involved in corporate, M&A, antitrust, privacy, and IP related matters. Within these legal areas, there will be sufficiently room to develop yourself further.

Additionally, the role will include from time to time representing the Company in legal proceedings and disputes, handling compliance issues related to ESG and personal data protection, providing opinions on legal considerations in the company, cooperating with independent external law firms, and supporting the continuous improvement of standard form agreements and legal processes together with the rest of the legal team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review, draft, and negotiate complex agreements pertaining to corporate and commercial legal matters.
• Provide legal support for corporate, M&A (Mergers and Acquisitions), antitrust, privacy, and intellectual property related matters.
• Represent the company in legal proceedings and disputes as needed.
• Handle compliance issues related to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) and personal data protection.
• Collaborate with independent external law firms when necessary.
• Support the continuous improvement of standard form agreements and legal processes in conjunction with the rest of the legal team.
• Work closely with the Head of International Legal Affairs to ensure alignment with company goals and objectives.
• Contribute to a culture of respect, transparency, and inclusivity within the legal team and across the organization.
• Take ownership of work assignments, think innovatively, and challenge the status quo to drive innovation in legal processes and practices.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Approximately 3 to 5 years of experience in a leading law firm and/or as inhouse legal counsel within an international context.
• Dutch law degree.
• Demonstrated interest in a wide range of legal areas, including proficient drafting and negotiation skills in commercial contracts. Experience in corporate law, competition law, privacy law, and intellectual property rights is a plus.
• Ability to support the local implementation of global compliance and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) related policies and procedures, as well as adapt global policies to local needs.
• A collaborative team player with excellent communication skills and a businessoriented mindset, capable of taking initiative and spearheading projects independently.
• Fluent in both English and Dutch.
