ISSA Seeks Office and HR Administrator


The International Step by Step Association (ISSA) is a vibrant international network that connects professionals and non-profit organizations working in the field of early childhood development.

Established in the Netherlands in 1999, ISSA's community today stretches across the globe with more than 95 member organizations coming from close to 40 countries, primarily located in Europe and Central Asia.

In addition to providing network services to its Members (capacity building, learning exchanges, partnership projects, networking activities, etc.), ISSA also runs programs and offers services and resources to other stakeholders, increasingly acting as a broader platform for the early childhood development field.

With a yearly budget between 2 and 3 million EURO, ISSA's operations are carried out through its programmatic and networking activities, with an emerging social enterprise division to generate unrestricted income.


THE POSITION


ISSA seeks to hire an Office and HR Administrator, based at its office in the Child Rights Home in Leiden, joining a team of 16 staff members.

This is a part-time position of 2 days/week.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
HR

  • Coordinate Talent Management Cycle activities, including but not limited to recruitment, on
- and off-boarding, personnel and payroll administration, staff appraisal, training and development;

  • Nurture a positive working environment and define practices necessary to promote a high level of employee morale, engagement and motivation;
  • Develop and/or maintain systems and procedures to ensure that ISSA complies with GDPR; Maintain HR files in line with the Dutch labour and social security regulations;
  • Ensure high quality of HR data;
  • Assist the ISSA's Staff with HRrelated questions and issues and provide periodic communication on benefits and related information.
General Administration

  • Manage daytoday office operations, oversee overall office activities;
  • Supervise the acquisition and maintenance of equipment and supplies in accordance with the ISSA's budget and purchasing policies;
  • Serve as the main point of contact with the ISSA's outsourced IT service providers to ensure all IT needs are addressed on timely manner;
  • Manage the vendors for the ISSA's operations, including insurance providers, the landlord of the office, etc.);
  • Liaise with relevant service providers, gather and analyze tenders from service providers as needed; prepare recommendations on best options for ISSA.

PROFILE

Education and Knowledge:

  • Bachelor's degree/HBO in the field of Human Resource Management, Business Administration or similar academic qualification;
  • Good knowledge of the Dutch labour law and social security regulations is an advantage;
  • Certification in areas related to the job will be an advantage.
Experience

  • 2+ years combined human resource and office management experience;
  • Previous experience working in a nongovernmental organization in the Netherlands is an advantage.

  • Ability to listen and communicate clearly and effectively with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds
  • Fluency in English and Dutch both in writing and verbally

SALARY AND BENEFITS:
Commensurate with experience. The terms of the contract will be determined based on the Dutch Labor Law.
