- Create and conduct experiments and analyzes results and data.
- Interpret and document results and internally communicate verbally or in writing (in English).
- Participate in intellectual property evaluations and development of patent applications.
- Present ongoing work and findings to senior staff and summarizes the nature and methodology of the research.
- Collaborate with specialists to apply the results of research and develop new techniques.
- Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
- Understand and comply with safety regulations and other procedural compliance regulations.

- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience

- Minimum of 2-3 years of work experience in laboratory or R&D environment in the field of Chemistry, Food Chemistry and/or Food Technology
- Beginning-to-working knowledge of research techniques
- Lab experience in the field of food safety research
- Drivers License ( plant is located in the Botlek)

Job Purpose and Impact
This position is part of the Edible Oils Europe Product and Process Development Team (EO-E PPD) located in the Botlek, The Netherlands. The Lab technician EO-E PPD will plan, organize and perform research related trials and analysis to support our R&D projects. In this role you will be responsible for setting up and executing test protocols, preparing samples, performing trials & analysis and documentation & reporting of results (in English). You will cooperate closely with our Fats and Oils Scientists and Engineers which are experts in the field of edible oil refining to develop and optimize new products and processes. You will also be responsible for calibration, monitoring, troubleshooting and maintaining equipment used in our PPD laboratory and will cooperate in the implementation and optimization of new/existing methods and techniques together with our other Lab technician and Analysts.
