    Welcome to Tap Electric. Tap is an e-mobility startup based in the heart of Amsterdam, connecting drivers to chargers for seamless EV charging. Our mission is to deliver a brilliant driver experience at the intersection of grid and mobility.

    As we scale across Europe, we're looking for a Finance Manager to help us build a rock-solid financial foundation while keeping pace with a fast-moving startup.

    This is a hands-on role with real ownership: you'll run the monthly cycle, keep us compliant across multiple countries, and help turn financial data into insight for decision-making.

    What you'll be doing

    • Owning the monthly close and reporting cycle, ensuring accurate, timely financials
    • Managing tax compliance across multiple European markets (VAT, filings, local requirements)
    • Supporting forecasting, budgeting, and business planning, working closely with founders and leadership
    • Building and improving financial systems and processes — including performance tracking, AP, AR, and cash management
    • Partnering with the wider team to make finance a business enabler, not a bottleneck
    • Helping scale finance operations in line with company growth (new markets, products, entities)
    • Working with external partners such as accountants, tax advisors, and auditors where needed

    About you

    • You have ~5 years of experience in finance, controlling, or a similar role
    • You're comfortable owning the numbers end-to-end — from transactional detail to management insight
    • You enjoy building structure where none exists (yet)
    • You're pragmatic, detail-oriented, and not afraid to roll up your sleeves
    • You thrive in an entrepreneurial environment and either have startup experience or strongly want it

    Nice to haves

    • Background in accounting (education or hands-on experience)
    • Fluency in Dutch (spoken and written)
    • Experience with multi-country finance and European tax/VAT structures
    • Familiarity with modern finance tools and cloud accounting systems
    • Experience supporting fast-growing or venture-backed companies

    A bit more about Tap

    Tap was founded in late 2020 by two charging software veterans, Nico and Dan, who saw that the charging UX for EV drivers was broken. They bootstrapped their way to building 2 key products: a driver app that enables really simple payments on a huge network of chargers; and a platform for charger owners and installers to manage their chargers and collect payments.
