Data Privacy Manager EMEA (M/F/d)

Position Description:
Reporting to Corning's Global Privacy Program Manager, the EMEA (Europe, Middle East. and Africa) Manager will work closely with and receive direction and guidance from the Chief Privacy Officer and the Global Privacy Program Manager to oversee the EMEA operational aspects of Corning's global data privacy program.

The role is responsible for all aspects of the Data Privacy Program within the EMEA region and will work to ensure the efficient and effective execution of key deliverables as laid out in Corning's Binding Corporate Rules (BCRs).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daytoday execution of the global data privacy program and risk management process within the EMEA region.
  • Work crossfunctionally with internal and external partners especially, but not exclusively, in the EMEA region to ensure successful implementation, execution, and enforcement of the company's global data privacy program in the EMEA region.
  • Lead and manage the EMEA analyst.
  • Address Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) activities, including preliminary evaluation for need, initiation, review and approval of PIAs.
  • Coordination and execution of Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs).
  • Supplier contract reviews and amendment support (DPA/SCCs).
  • Creation and provision of training to various groups as identified and required throughout the year addressing EMEArelated privacy topics.
  • Support and further develop Privacy Notices.
  • Address the company's various BCR requirements, including the coordination and execution of audits, proactive follow up on all remediation requirements, ongoing regulatory reviews, and complaint and/or DSR responses.
  • Provide easy to understand practical advice and guidance on privacy matters, following a riskbased approach that balances Corning's interests with requisite privacy protections.

Required Skills and Expertise:

  • Education: Minimum of a bachelor's degree.
  • At least five (5) years' demonstrated experience working in an EMEA focused data privacy program.
  • People management experience.
  • Strong indepth knowledge of GDPR required. General familiarity of regional privacy laws also preferred (e.g., UK, Switzerland, etc.).
  • Recognized privacy certification such as CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, CISSP, CDPSE or equivalent preferred.
  • Familiarity with Binding Corporate Resolutions preferred.
  • Familiarity with European work councils preferred.
  • Experience working with privacy and data governance tools, such as One Trust.
  • Demonstrated passion for data privacy.
  • Effective understanding of IT concepts relevant to privacy.
  • Proficiency in leading and successfully executing large scale projects.

  • Aligning with company values.
  • Ability to progress the company's EMEA privacy program and projects by proactively developing strong, cordial working relationships with internal stakeholders.
  • Setting priorities and undertaking multiple tasks with tight deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and or as part of a team, sometimes with limited direction and guidance.

Work location:

  • Corning locations in France (Avon and Pontchateau) or countrywide home office.
  • There will be occasional travel to meet with key stakeholders or businesses as required.
