    University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center

    The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC) seeks a distinguished scholar and leader to serve as its next Dean of the College of Pharmacy (OUCOP). The Dean will provide visionary leadership in the advancement of the college's educational and research missions; promote excellence among faculty, learners, and staff; and play an important role in fundraising and alumni relations.

    The OUHSC is one of the most comprehensive academic health centers in the United States, with six professional Colleges (Pharmacy, Medicine, Nursing, Dentistry, Allied Health, and Public Health) and a Graduate College; clinical and research centers of excellence such as the NCI-designated Stephenson Cancer Center, the Harold Hamm Diabetes Center, and the Dean McGee Eye Institute, and with patient care and graduate medical education programs in partnership with the healthcare system, OU Health. The OUHSC and OU Health partnership integrates the three missions of patient care, education and research to support a research-driven academic health system.

    It is a particularly exciting time to join the organization given the expressed commitment to advance both academic and research growth as evidenced by its most recent strategic plan . The clarity of this mission and support from the highest levels of the institution will be a boon to the next Dean as they deliver on the priority goal to be a top 100 research-driven academic health center as measured by Blue Ridge rankings in the next five years.

    The College of Pharmacy is fully accredited through the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education (ACPE) and its faculty and students are active in outreach programs to the professional state organization and in the community. The college has received the AACP Lawrence C. Weaver Award, recognizing transformative community service. In 2021, the College ranked as the #1 pharmacy school in the country for its NAPLEX first-time passage rate of 98%. In addition to its regular academic mission, the college maintains a nuclear and closed-door pharmacy and operates and staffs the Oklahoma Center for Poison and Drug Information.

    The ideal candidate will hold a PharmD, PharmD/PhD, or Ph.D. degree and be eligible for the academic rank of Professor, tenure-eligible. They will also have a track record of excellent academic accomplishments and credentials, with a history of funded research and publications and national recognition within their field.
