    (Senior) Manager, Business Operations, Bioanalytical Science

    About the department:

    Employees from many different expertise areas work together across our global R&D project teams to create breakthrough antibody therapeutics. The global Translational & Quantitative Sciences (TQS) department is composed of several groups that collaboratively provide strong scientific rationale to drive critical decisions across the entire spectrum of discovery to lifecycle management. The Bioanalytical Science (BioA) team is responsible for developing fit-for-purpose bioanalytical strategies to quantify drug in circulation and assess unwanted immunogenicity.

    Managing business operations in Genmab is about creating and maintaining a structured, efficient yet flexible environment that empowers our scientific expert teams to focus on what they do best: deliver on the portfolio, innovate, and bring safe, effective products to the market. The Business Operations team provides a solid basis of information to facilitate decision-making and ensures effective processes and resources are in place. We work seamlessly with the functional experts in the department, as well as with representatives from enabling departments such as Finance, Contract Management, IT, HR and Lab Operations to create, connect and align operational processes.

    About the role:

    This role is an exciting opportunity to drive the success of TQS by providing a solid operations foundation onto which our business runs. By aligning our department's strategic objectives with everyday activities, you will be instrumental in driving the financial and operational success of the BioA team. You will serve as Business Operations partner to the functional head of BioA, facilitating communication and decision-making processes and providing the team with critical insights for informed strategic direction.

    Working closely together with the Translational & Quantitative Sciences Business Operations team, your initial focus will be budget management and financial oversight, including budget planning, forecasting, and financial planning. You will act as liaison to Finance and Contract Management, maintaining oversight of department contracts and ensuring spend is according to plan and company priorities/policies. Expected role expansion includes supporting functional leaders with strategic planning and execution, operational capacity management and monitoring, as well as process optimization and implementation.

    Key responsibilities:

    • Develop and manage the budget, ensuring all projects align with financial objectives. Provide financial insights and analysis to support decision-making, including variance analysis and forecasting.
    • Support functional leaders in ensuring operational capacity (equipment, materials, human resources, laboratories) and capabilities are in place to deliver on strategic plans and provide business critical insights using analytics.
    • Act as a liaison between the department and Finance, Contract Management, HR and other support functions. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to ensure alignment and support.
    • Support the functional leaders in strategic planning and translating organizational and department goals into operational plans. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of objectives.
    • Ensure team cohesion and engagement by supporting clear communication (eg team retreats, update meetings, training) and a strong onboarding experience for new recruits.

    Moreover, you meet the following professional requirements:

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree with a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in business operations and/or financial management (preferably in the pharma/biotech industry)
    • Strong background in financial management (budgeting, forecasting, control) and resource management
    • Experience working with ERP software such as SAP
    • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
    • Strong organizational skills, including multi-stakeholder / global collaborations
    • Well-developed organizational sensitivity
    • Able to work successfully under pressure in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, keeping track of multiple tasks simultaneously even when priorities change
    • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in the pharmaceutical industry is a plus
    • Experience in a regulated (GLP/GCP/GMP) environment is a plus
    • Previous experience in or affinity with laboratory work is a plus
