Within this family business, you will take on the challenge as a Sea Container Planner in the logistics world. You will be responsible for optimizing the workflow and ensuring that the right containers arrive at the right place.

About the role:

As a sea container planner at this rapidly growing family business, you play a crucial role in the logistics operation. Your daily challenge is to receive and send empty containers of various types, sizes, colors, and contents. It is your responsibility to ensure that the correct stock of containers arrives at the customer on time. This is crucial to prevent, for example, a customer from transporting cocoa in containers that previously contained chemicals.

Your tasks as Sea Container Planner:

• You ensure optimal supply and removal of empty containers.
• Ensuring accurate planning; you make sure the right stock is transported in the right containers.
• You keep the administration up-to-date.
• Maintain intensive contact with both terminals, the maintenance and repair department, and the barge department.
• In addition to daily tasks, you will also be involved in change projects.

A brief about the company:
This family business specializes in complete logistical solutions to facilitate the flow of container goods for its customers. They do this by connecting storage, water transport, and road transport. Founded in 1996, they have now grown to two strategically located inland terminals, one in Amsterdam and one in Zaandam. The office houses around 15 friendly colleagues with an informal work atmosphere. Young and old are mixed, and hard work goes hand in hand with lots of laughter.

What is your background and experience?

You can easily switch between different tasks, see connections quickly, and act problem-solving. Furthermore, you are customer-focused, service-oriented, and have strong communication skills. We also require:

• You have at least MBO+ level of education, preferably with a completed logistics course.
• Approximately 2 years of experience as a planner. If you have experience with sea containers, please let us know!
• You are proficient in Dutch and English at a professional level.
• You are an Excel expert.
