From this significant market position, BG A&L is making new product investments in the Analog Signal Chain Market as well as the Power Management ICs market. What you will do
In the BG A&L family, we have diverse teams from engineering to support and management. They are working together to ensure that customers get the most out of our A&L products and for the company to reach the ambitious goal to be the leading IC company. As an internship/graduate student, you will be joining one of the teams in the department and working with multicultural colleagues. You will support on improving our technology and/or processes. This opportunity will give you chance to acquire professional experiences, researching and experimenting to discover new ideas together, and then to present your work to the team and/or other colleagues in the department.

Assignment 1 - Automated sweep measurement tool - (for HBO/University Electrical Engineering Graduates)
In our validation work we often need to perform a measurement where we sweep one parameter (voltage/current) and measureseveral other parameters. It is a simple task but mistakes can be easily introduced when the values need to be read from the measurement equipment and written down by hand.An automated tool that can perform these kind of measurements would be very useful.The tool must be easy to use, configurable and be able to handle all kinds of lab equipment.Additionally, the tool must be expandable both in features andthe amount of equipment it can control.A solid software architecture is essential to meet these requirements. In our group there are software building blocks available and for you the taskto buildit into a standalone tool that is ready to be used of.

Assignment 2 - Hardware re-use tool (for University students, Software Engineering)
An Integrated Circuit, or IC, is a small electronic device that contains multiple interconnected components, such as transistors, capacitors, and resistors, on a single chip made of semiconductor material. The components are precisely etched onto the chip using photolithography.
Each IC chip has bondpads that connect the chip to the leads of the package. Before packaging, the chips must be tested while still part of the silicon wafer. To do this, probecards are used to connect the test system to the chip. However, probecards are expensive, and it would be ideal to use the same probecard for all of our ICs.
We are currently seeking a tool that can gather information on all of our ICs, including bondpad location, chip size (length and width), number of bondpads, and bond pad size. The tool should also have the option to search for a chip that matches our specific criteria when designing a new chip. This search function would allow us to find a chip with a similar number of bondpads and chip size so that we can reuse the probecards.
The challenge for the tool lies in retrieving and processing data from various databases and tools.
