You will be working closely with local business leaders in different functional areas as well as with finance colleagues in other departments (e.g. Financial Control) and controllers in other Marel entities.

You will be reporting into the Teamlead of RFS Business Control and be part of the Retail & Food Service solution division of Marel.


As member of the Division Business Controlling team, you act as a business partner to the Divisional RFS organization to support and take part in management decision making, risk analysis, performance management and business development, while ensuring governance & compliance.


Your focus will be all business activities spanning from Innovation, Service to Project control of actual sales projects and aftermarket performance monitoring.

The role is based out of Boxmeer, NL.


As Business Controller in your daily tasks, you will:

  • Support of the strategic and operational planning process as well as forecasting
  • Translate objectives into capacity planning and investment plans for the location, reviews/challenges man and machine hour rates, service tariffs, utilization, etc.
  • Manage monthly reporting and analysis to monitor KPI's and targets to measure performance of the different functions/locations
  • Review and challenge performance with local business/function responsible persons. Secure necessary corrective actions are taken if and when required
  • Analyze financial performance to gain insight into business trends and identifies key drivers for achieving goals
  • Project reporting and control (pre/post)
  • Actively drive or be involved in improving above activities, providing better insights and become a proactive sparring partner for local business management.
  • Management of working capital.
  • Ensure prevention of (financial) surprises through a good system of internal controls.
  • Fosters adherence to Corporate Governance, monitors compliance and initiates actions accordingly.

In order to be successful in this position, we expect that you got a university degree in finance, accounting, or other business-related fields maybe in combination with technical understanding.


Moreover, you bring with you:

  • Experience from a similar financial role preferably within Supply Chain/ Operations in a fast paced international manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of ERPsystems such as SAP is seen as an advantage.
  • It is an advantage to have knowledge of supply chain processes in order to be able to understand and assess what the financial needs are.
  • Experience with business partnering and a broad stakeholder landscape where you dare to challenge status quo.
  • As we are a global organization English communication skill both spoken and written is a requirement.
  • Experience with project management.
