We are looking for an ambitious and pragmatic team player to strengthen our team of Customer Journey Experts.


The Team


As Customer Journey Expert you will be part of the team that drives change and is the connection between the IT world of Financial Markets and the Trading Risk Management area.

The team is part of the Financial Risk Trading Risk Management (FR TRM) department in Amsterdam.

FR TRM is a global department within ING CRO domain, responsible for product control and market risk management activities of the FM trading activities and highly leveraging on the FM IT infrastructure.

The FR TRM Change team works closely with the FMGT Tribe.

FMGT Tribe is the change delivery department of Financial Markets ('FM') and Group Treasury ('GT') that has the purpose to realize their clients' dreams by providing trading and risk management solutions, and delivering long lasting value.


Roles & responsibilities

As a Customer Journey Expert (CJE):

  • You will combine market and system knowledge, product management, and risk expertise to take a leading role in successfully delivering change initiatives.
  • To do so, you understand how trade data, market data, and static data are used in calculations and reporting and can track the dependencies.
  • You will be the interfacing function between various stakeholders (Financial Markets, IT, Risk and Finance), understand the challenges and identify how technology and business knowledge can be used to solve them.
  • You will represent the voice of Trading Risk Management to IT and the business.

The key responsibilities for the role are:

  • Function as the linking pin between FMGT Tribe and Trading Risk Management;
  • Support efficient change by providing impactful analysis on cross domain, endtoend, complex environments;
  • Translate and explain the "What" so that the IT engineers can determine the appropriate "How";
  • Structure, simplify and resolve issues on processes and systems. Participate in endtoend refinement and solution design sessions;
  • Coordinate and perform testing and analysis and communicating back the results;
  • Supports an environment of open dialogue that encourages expertise sharing through collaboration, in which everyone takes responsibility, help each other to be successful and remain a step ahead;
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, focused on a clear understanding of their challenges and opportunities.

As a Customer Journey Expert in TRM, you will also need:

  • Master's degree, preferably in Engineering, Finance, Economics
  • At least 2 years market risk experience
  • Strong financial product knowledge and affinity with IT
  • Have an interest in the functional logic and willingness to delve into the details
  • To be a good communicator with attention to detail and able to summarise
  • To be a team player that can work with crossfunctional, geographically dispersed teams
  • To be able to understand the business perspective of key projects for FR TRM
  • To have a flexible approach to role and responsibilities
  • To be fluent in English
  • Programming experience (VBA, Python,)
