    You will be part of the team developing new X-ray tubes, together with our R&D department. In your role, the emphasis will be on the physical aspects of X-ray tubes with a focus on manufacturability.

    The manufacturing (process and equipment) engineering department is responsible for the continuous development and structural optimisation of the production processes in terms of production capacity, delivery reliability, quality, sustainability and costs. As a process engineer, you initiate improvement projects and do this in a project-based, factual and statistically based way such as Lean Six Sigma. The process engineer supervises every innovation in the production environment.

    You will participate in R&D projects to introduce new products and processes with optimal quality assurance and efficiency in production. You test, assess and release new materials, semi-finished products and purchase semi-finished products.

    In addition, you supervise the introduction of new machines and equipment on the production floor and release them. You ensure that the released products, processes and working methods meet the established requirements, are commercially sound and are in line with the business strategy.

    For approximately 25% of your time, you will provide direct support to our production in the context of troubleshooting process and production problems, by making process descriptions, work instructions and giving instructions to production employees.

    The job requires the applicant to understand the physical processes in X-ray tubes, and to work closely together with other highly trained professionals in technologically challenging multi-disciplinary projects.

    What are your responsibilities?

  • The position is office based in Eindhoven, the Netherlands
  • To advise R&D and operations on the manufacturability of products and processes in the design phase and ultimately releasing products and processes for the production process.
  • To draw up a schedule of requirements with regard to the production process, as well as determining the work equipment and the associated tools
  • To monitor the production process, to check products and to process against predetermined criteria and to identify bottlenecks in the production process
  • To analyzing bottlenecks and complaints, to develop solutions and to innovate, to adjust product and to process design and to ensure the implementation of new (sub)processes and product designs
  • To draft, archive, update and communicate documentation on work instructions and roadmaps
  • To select and make substantive agreements with suppliers, as well as checking compliance with agreements with suppliers
  • To train and supervise production employees with regard to their work within the various production processes, as well as authorizing production employees to work on a specific process

  • This position also is open for a starter. We don't expect you to fulfil all responsibilities right from the beginning. Depending on your experience a growth path will be defined. For example, first focus on a limited number of technologies and expand knowledge on other technologies along the way. Or: first focus on execution of own activities and gradually grow into supporting and coaching colleagues

  • A Bachelor (B.Sc.) or Master (M.Sc.) in Mechanical or electrical Engineering, Physics or chemistry
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma. Specialization in one of the fields relevant to X-ray tubes such as vacuum technology, materials science, connection technology. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a technical production environment.
