    We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer (PHP) who thrives in a tech first environment and wants to have a direct impact on millions of users. If you get a rush from building systems that cannot go down and solving complex payment challenges that actually matter, you'll fit right in.

From major marketplaces to global brands, millions of users rely on our systems every day. We don't just process payments, we enable platforms to accept, hold, and disburse funds securely. 24/7.

    As a Senior Backend Developer (PHP), you'll contribute both strategically and hands-on to the core of our platform. You'll work on strengthening critical services, introducing cleaner architectures, and preparing our systems for new payment flows across Europe. You'll help make smart choices about performance, reliability, and security, and you'll be comfortable dealing with the real world complexity that comes with scale. You'll do this as part of one of our four agile Scrum teams focused on in platform payments, onboarding, and core product innovation, working with developers who know payments inside out.

    Your Impact:

    • Create and maintain a high availability platform that processes millions of secure transactions every day around the globe.
    • Break big systems into clean microservices that stay fast when traffic hits across Europe and the UK.
    • Level up database performance and introduce performance tuning that keeps us fast and reliable under pressure.
    • Build new in platform payment flows that move money in ways traditional e-commerce never had to.
    • Create the APIs and tools platforms need to grow without waiting on us.
    • Help teammates through complex engineering trade offs and communicate technical topics clearly across the organization.

    What You Bring

    • Deep experience with PHP and MySQL, you know how to build stable, well performing systems.
    • You can build and ship at a senior level in Laravel or Symfony.
    • You have worked on high traffic platforms or microservice architectures.
    • CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes, caching, queues, optimization, scalability, and performance tuning are part of your everyday toolkit.
    • Experience with Redis or scalable microservices is a strong plus.
    • You can communicate complex technical topics clearly, also to people outside engineering.
    • You are currently based in the Netherlands.

    We offer:

    • An all in salary up to €95.000 annually, incl 8%, 13th month, depending on your experience and skill
    • Hybrid working model in a modern, flexible environment.
    • 24 + 2 paid vacation days.
    • One-year contract with the intent to extend indefinitely.
