Job Description

To start with, the position of Central Marketing & IP Legal Manager sits comfortably in the Intellectual Property Team, which is part of the wider Legal, Compliance and Corporate Affairs Team. Just how we like it As the Marketing & IP Legal Manager you will be the main legal point of contact for the Central Marketing Team. You will provide marketing legal advice to our central marketing teams, approve on and off pack marketing claims and negotiate and draft IP related agreements. For this, we don't just need you to be a knowledgeable professional but also strongly rely on your interpersonal skills as well as your drive for success. Know that you'll have a crucial role in creating and protecting the impact we look for in our value chain. With this said, we like you to take responsibility over the following tasks:

• Day to day legal advice on marketing activation deliverables both on pack and off-pack for the marketing function
• Operate as a sustainability champion by providing advice and counsel for the marketing function ensuring that initiatives meet legal requirements in line with JDE Peet's agreed risk-appetite
• Negotiate and draft commercial agereements: Marketing IP licences/partnership agreements, supply agreements and NDAs for Marketing and R&D teams
• Create and deploy templates, resources (including playbooks) and training materials on IP and marketing claim related topics
• Collaborate effectively with global, regional and local cross functional teams on the deployment of marketing activation materials
• Provide marketing legal training to employees and and facilitate sharing of best marketing practices across different business disciplines within JDE Peet's
• Ability to juggle multiple projects at the same time.

Qualifications

We are looking for a qualified lawyer with marketing and regulatory consumer compliance experience in developed markets and who has a solid background in IP. You will need to have an excellent command of spoken and written English and have a good knowledge and experience of advertising, commercial, commercial and intellectual property laws, contract drafting and regulatory consumer compliance.

Someone that holds themselves accountable and doesn't shy away from responsibility. Given the nature of the role we feel it's important for you to have at least 6 years post qualification experience as well as a solid understanding of your own added value. We thrive in diverse teams and look for people that appreciate that as much as we do. We can give you a list of "must haves," however that's not how we view your candidacy. We do, of course, take into consideration your legal experience in Marketing and IP, but ultimately, we look at the bigger picture. But to give you a bit of guidance as to what we feel is needed in this role, we'll share our "nice to have" list with you:

• Previous in-house experience in the consumer, retail, luxury or FMCG space
• In-house experience where ESG is a top priority
• Legally qualified in a common law country, or The Netherlands
