    We are looking for a Director of Engineering for a worldwide sophisticated hotel brand in Amsterdam.

    RESPONSIBILITIES at a Glance

    1. Lead the planning, organization, and supervision of engineering activities to ensure top-notch service delivery;
    2. Efficiently allocate tasks among the Engineering team, with clear oversight to Assistant Engineering Managers;
    3. Proactively generate forecasts, reports, and statistics to drive operational excellence;
    4. Conduct regular site evaluations to uphold compliance with health, safety, and security standards;
    5. Maintain meticulous records and report incidents for health, safety, and security protocols;
    6. Manage maintenance schedules and ensure equipment certification aligns with local regulations;
    7. Implement control measures for equipment functionality and compliance standards;
    8. Drive Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives within the organization;
    9. Optimize energy consumption strategies to meet ESG targets and local regulations;
    10. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure adherence to city-specific ESG regulations;
    11. Perform hands-on repairs and maintenance tasks as needed, supporting the team;
    12. Implement energy conservation measures throughout operations for sustainability;
    13. Ensure operational readiness of fire, life, and safety systems, executing emergency protocols;
    14. Identify system malfunctions, rectify defects, and contribute to team development.

    YOUR PROFILE

    Possess a minimum of two years' experience as an Engineering Manager, preferably within the Hospitality industry
    Hold a relevant university degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering and/or Facility Management
    Demonstrate a deep understanding of the technical aspects and specific challenges within the Hotel sector
    Showcase a track record of success in facilities maintenance and adherence to regulatory standards
    Display a solid grasp of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles and their implementation in a business context
    Familiarity with local regulations concerning building equipment certification and compliance
    Exhibit exceptional communication skills to effectively engage with both internal and external stakeholders
    Showcase strong administrative capabilities, combined with effective leadership and a customer-centric approach
    Possess proficient language skills in English and preferably in Dutch
