We do almost everything in-house, developing cutting-edge technologies and processes to ensure we continue to grow rapidly without missing a beat. If you're passionate about internal communication and employee engagement, we're offering you the opportunity to join the diverse team at our Amsterdam HQ and make a real difference in our scale-up environment.

    In a nutshell

As Lead of the Communications & Engagement team, you contribute to an engaging and inspiring work environment in which our growing team of 10,000+ employees and 500+ team leads in the Netherlands, Germany and France can get the best out of themselves. You organise events and celebrations, drive communication for strategic change projects and expand our internal communication and engagement calendar around Picnic's mission and values. Together with your colleagues from the International Communications & Engagement team, you will work to realise our mission: to be the best place to work for our employees

    What you'll do

Lead our communication and engagement initiatives for all operational and central employees:

    • Maintain our communication and engagement calendar, build engagement programs around Picnic's mission and values
    • Partner with HR and business stakeholders to ensure initiatives meet business needs
    • Guide teammates (copywriting, design, events management) and support their development within the team

Ensure employees know how to contribute to company goals and feel sufficiently informed:

    • Create communication material for strategic communication, from storytelling around Picnic's values to personal communication (e.g. wage updates)
    • Create awareness campaigns to support business goals (e.g. increase safety awareness in our operational workspace, value the importance and contribution of local leadership)
    • Improve the effectiveness of our communication channels towards employees (Slack, newsletters, print, work app) and maintain a clear tone-of-voice across our communication

Build further on Picnic as a place where people feel connected to our mission, connected to co-workers and feel valued for contributions:

    • Create and organise team and company-wide events like periodic business updates and parties (summer, Christmas, Picnic's anniversary)
    • Manage employee delight programs and celebrate successes (e.g.: Christmas gifts, merchandise, milestone celebrations)

    About you

    • BSc. or MSc. degree in Communication, Communications Sciences, Journalism, Hospitality, Event Management or similar
    • 5+ years of professional experience in the field of internal corporate communications, events and/or project management
    • Fluent in English and Dutch (basic knowledge of French and/or German would be a plus)
    • Conceptual thinking and creativity: you have the ability to develop new scalable engagement concepts that match employee and business needs
    • Excellent project management skills: you can manage large international projects, and get many things done with teams and external vendors
