    Your role:

    As a Senior Database Engineer, you'll shape and optimize our data infrastructure to support our rapidly growing platform. Your expertise will be key in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust database systems that can handle millions of transactions each month, with a growth rate that doubles annually.

    You'll be at the forefront of our efforts to scale our data architecture, ensuring it remains efficient, secure, and highly available as we expand. You'll have the opportunity to work with cutting‐edge technologies and tackle complex challenges.

    You'll make key decisions that directly impact the stability and scalability of our data ecosystem, contributing to the success of our business operations and customer satisfaction.

    Your responsibilities:

    • Collaborate on designing, implementing and maintaining the infrastructure data platform.
    • Work closely with engineers to ensure they leverage the latest insight into the realm of data and databases.
    • Focus on improving the performance, security, and scalability of our data estate.
    • Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to enhance overall data estate health.
    • Maintain and improve our current infrastructure and drive the transition to a state‐of‐the‐art data estate.
    • Continuously evaluate and adopt new technologies and methodologies to cater for our ever‐growing demand.
    • Incident Management, based on a 24/7 on‐call rotation.

    Your skills and experience:

    • Prior experience as a Database Engineer/Administrator, with expertise in PostgreSQL.
    • Passion for automation, recognizing, analyzing and converting manual processes to automated ones.
    • Experience working within DevOps culture with a modern data estate.
    • Knowledge of database concepts, including performance tuning, indexing, and query optimization.
    • Proficiency in scripting languages (required: SQL, Bash, pre: Python) for automation and database management.
    • Strong understanding of database security principles and best practices.
    • Experience with cloud database services (mainly AWS RDS or Azure SQL Database).
    • Excellent problem‐solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a 24/7 production environment.
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
