    About us

    Damen Services provides its services to the customers of Damen Shipyards as a total services solution provider. Damen Services is responsible for carrying out a wide range of service activities worldwide and on a commercial basis, resulting from the start-up, deployment and life time extension of delivered installations/vessels. Commissioning, repair, warranty, service and maintenance activities are the most prominent of these. Also the realization of training for crews, the delivery of ships, maintenance management and the supply of parts during (new) construction are part of the services portfolio. Finally, as a business partner of Damen Shipyards' customers, Damen Services also realizes structural and long-term projects.

    The department Technology, Development & ILS is part of Damen Services, the central organization located in head office Gorinchem (The Netherlands). As a central Service Line we are a department for complex technical challenges, and we stand for global collaboration by maintaining processes, facilitating a knowledge platform and trigger optimal use of our digital tooling. Besides the daily operations we focus on the Development of our services. In this team we will work out new ideas and propositions.

    To create more awareness of what we are doing we are searching for an Administrative Assistant . The main target is collaborate on the profiling and displaying the several activities executed in the Service Line. We are looking for a person with adequate communication skills combined with people/organization sensitivity who can transform the needs in concrete deliverables.

    The role

    As Administrative Support you will work closely with the colleagues from Service Line Technology, Development & ILS . There you will support in all common secretarial activities. These vary from setting up and maintaining the Sharepoint page and writing newsletters to supervising training sessions.

    Required key capabilities include a positive, helpful and proactive attitude, customer sensitivity, efficiency, effectiveness and a hands-on mentality.

    Key accountabilities

    Your activities and responsibilities as Administrative Support include:

  • General support towards the department Technology, Development & ILS;
  • Preparation of newsletters;
  • Preparation of change management required communications;
  • Responsible for confidential and commercial correspondence and documents in English;
  • Creation and maintaining of the knowledge center;
  • Creation and maintaining Sharepoint sites;
  • Performing warranty report communications;
  • Maintenance of work instructions;
  • Preparing and organizing meetings, company visits, events (think of invitation letters, transfers, lunch, meeting rooms);
  • Keeping track of key user events and prepare sessions;
  • Taking notes at meetings;
  • Organizing acquisition trips and justify expenses of the team digitally.
  • Skills & experience

    You will deal with a number of Projects at the same time, which requires a high level of efficiency, accuracy and excellent organization skills. You need to feel comfortable interacting with a wide spectrum of people at all organizational levels.

    Besides that, you recognize yourself in the following profile:

  • Relevant experience in a similar field of work;
  • Excellent spoken and written command of English and Dutch;
  • Ability to feel comfortable and work with people from different countries, cultures and different layers of society;
  • Knowing how to anticipate workload and willing to take initiative;
  • Representative, service oriented, flexible, decisive, team player, excellent organizational skills, reliable and accurate;
  • Available for 3 till 4 days per week (24 or 32 hours).
