The task of the "Information Technology" (IT) division of the TELOTA - IT/DH department of the BBAW is the smooth and demand-oriented provision and maintenance of central services and IT services for the digital operation of the administration, scientific research projects, archive and library as well as for the interdisciplinary working groups.
In addition to supporting users of the IT services, this also includes the hardware components for servers, storage and networks.

Your tasks:
IT support and user support
User-oriented user support as part of first-level support
Receiving user inquiries about the hardware used, standard software and established services
Analyzing, diagnosing and resolving hardware and software problems, special situations and incidents
Provision, configuration, administration and maintenance of clients and end devices as well as other peripherals, including software
Creation and management of user profiles
Continuous further development of service processes and technology used
Adaptation and maintenance of the database-supported IT management system (inventory management)
Ensuring the operational readiness of Windows-based server systems
Configuration and administration of Windows servers
Procurement of hardware and software
Determination of requirements in IT procurement issues
Planning, selection and organization of new and existing software licenses and hardware inventories
Independent, regular revision of specifications for standard hardware models
Technical and content-related input for award procedures
Request for quotations and independent communication with dealers
Invoice processing in close cooperation with the finance department
Coordination and processing of warranty and repair cases
Planning the possible uses of hardware and/or software that is no longer in use
~ Documentation of activities, systems and recommendations for action
Your profile:
Completed vocational training as an IT specialist (system integration) or comparable qualification proven by professional experience
At least three years of relevant professional experience in the above-mentioned key tasks
Very good knowledge of Microsoft Windows 10/11 and Office administration
Good knowledge of directory services (AD/LDAP)
Solid and up-to-date knowledge of Windows Server systems
Knowledge of current client/server network infrastructure
Basic knowledge of virtualization technologies
Basic knowledge of backup and recovery
Practical experience in first-level support with ticket systems and remote support
Experience with client and peripheral hardware
German language skills (min C1) spoken and written
A structured, results- and service-oriented way of working
Ability to work in a team as well as good communication and cooperation skills
Willingness for continuous further development
Experience in public procurement law (VOL or UVgO, EVB-IT) and basic commercial knowledge are also desirable
