    Global Head of Public Affairs & ESG Communications (Amsterdam)

    We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual for the role of Global Head of Public Affairs and ESG Communications. This role will be responsible for developing and implementing public affairs strategies and managing all communications related to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) matters. Based in Amsterdam, the successful candidate will report directly to the Global Head of Integrated Communications and Brand and will be part of the Communications Leadership Team.

    Your role:

    • Develop and execute comprehensive public affairs strategies, in alignment with the company's objectives, to enhance brand reputation and manage public policy issues.
    • Manage media partnerships and build thought leadership programs (e.g. proprietary events) in support of Government Affairs to favorably shape EU policies.
    • Working in close partnership with Government Affairs, identify engagement opportunities to advance the company's position with relevant constituents including government agencies, NGOs, industry associations, and other relevant bodies to influence policies and legislation.
    • Lead the corporate ESG communications strategy, ensuring that the company's sustainable initiatives and practices are effectively communicated to internal and external stakeholders.
    • Oversee the development and production of all ESG-related communication materials, including sustainability reports, whitepapers, press releases, and presentations.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ESG considerations into marketing and brand campaigns, investor relations, employee engagement initiatives, and other relevant areas.
    • Serve as trusted advisor for senior leaders, providing communications consultancy and support; this includes production of executive briefings.
    • Direct and manage multiple external suppliers providing Communications support, such as PR-agencies. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging regulations, and global best practices related to public affairs and ESG communications.
    • Manage a team of communication professionals, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.

    You're the right fit if:

    • Bachelor's degree in international relations, Communication, Political Science, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in public affairs or corporate communication roles, preferably within the healthcare industry.
    • Your skills include...
    • Deep understanding of ESG frameworks and sustainability reporting standards.
    • Proven track record of managing successful public affairs campaigns and influencing policy decisions.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to different stakeholders.
    • Strong leadership capabilities, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
    • Ability to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
    • Demonstrated commitment to corporate social responsibility and sustainable practices.
    • Expert stakeholder management skills: engaging, aligning, and managing expectations. Personal characteristics: communicative, networker, team player, flexible, diplomatic, hands-on mentality, able to cope under pressure, professional, representative, persuasive, pro-active and culturally sensitive.
