    Regional Business Controller (Continental Europe)

    Cycas Hospitality is looking for a Regional business controller across continental Europe, responsible for supporting a portfolio of 4-6 properties through Europe.

    In this full-time position you will report to the Director of Group Finance & Asset Management, be part of an ambitious team of other 6 pairs and work side by side with the VP of Hotel Operations for the regions.

    In your role, you will support the hotels with the realisation of financial objectives through planning and budgeting, as well as helping the GMs in tracking the financial performance and cost efficiency with valuable fact-based and data-driven insights for the monthly business review, forecast and budget cycle.

    Moreover, you are expected to speak your mind and advise C-level.

    Due to the rapid and continuous growth of the organization, the scope of the role will evolve over time.

    Pre-requisites for application:

  • Fluent knowledge English + German and/or Dutch
  • Valid Visa to work in the EU
  • Solid hotel industry experience in finance/ controlling roles
  • Key Job Responsibilities

    Driving profitability

  • Performing forward-looking ad-hoc analysis, requested by C-level, Director of F&AM, GMs;
  • Optimize the financial performance, both short-term and long-term, including preparation of cash flows and long-range plans.
  • Support the hotel team in maximizing GOP conversion and providing a realistic outlook to support decision taking.
  • Taking part on any new project, including pre-opening an/or take-over of new properties within the region.
  • Perform financial analysis, by reviewing P&L and Balance Sheet.
  • Highlight financial risks and opportunities to stakeholders (GMs and Ops) and developing action plans when required.
  • Ensuring compliance

  • Provide a controlling framework and streamline on property processes .
  • Ensuring that hotels are maximizing the use of the tools and system available to reduce administrative burden and standardize the way of work.
  • Plan and execute periodic internal audits of the hotels.
  • nsure the awareness of the financial processes in the hotel teams, by planning training and facilitating the communication between hotel and other off property departments.
  • Support hotel management to develop action plans to address and resolve any problems/risk areas
  • Support quality and accuracy of reporting

  • Maintain the forecast& budget tool.
  • Support the hotel in the periodic reporting to Cycas Management and hotel owners.
  • Liaise with the accounting team to optimize data processing.
  • Liaise with the commercial department .
  • Coordinate budget and forecast process for the managed portfolio.
  • Requirements ( in addition to the pre-requisites)

  • Knowledge of the main hotel processes, familiarity with USALI and PMS systems.
  • Strong analytical skills: data oriented, striving for accuracy and critical thinking .
  • Strong communication skills, capable to mitigate conflicts and influence changes.
  • A team player mindset, to establish and maintain collaborative relationships within the hotel but also with external parties
  • Very good organizational skills, that allows to meet deadline and handle multiple stakeholders at the same time
  • Willingness to periodic travels
