As a Sustainability Officer your main responsibility is to lead the further development of the Sustainability area, including the actions and implementations, together with Supply Management and other stakeholders in the company.

You will also be collaborating with our business lines and especially with sales and operations, utilizing strong networking and influencing skills.

(S)he is a fact-based challenger who defines ways to find optimal and sustainable flow of goods in the supply chain, shipped from Wärtsilä locations to the end-customers.


The position will preferable be in one of the main locations in Europe, but the role and focus will be global.


  • Several years of proven experience in projects or actions aimed at enhancing sustainability.
  • A creative mindset that thrives on challenging the status quo and thinking outside the box and continuously improve.
  • High integrity, an open ear for feedback, and a commitment to active listening.
  • A strong belief in the power of collaboration and its positive impact.
  • A customeroriented attitude, always prioritizing client satisfaction.
  • A robust network both within and outside the company to facilitate outstanding results.
  • Familiarity with ISO management systems.
  • Excellent skills in documentation, visualization, and presentation.
  • Outstanding communication skills with fluency in written and spoken English.

You will shine in your role if you have:

  • Proficiency in Project Management, Planning Techniques
  • Competence in using SAP, PowerBI, and QlikView.
