Janssen Biologics is currently recruiting a
Supervisor QC Automation within our Quality Control (Qc), which has a key role in supporting the testing teams by maintaining and introducing the required automation tools, laboratory systems and equipment.

The whole automation team consists of approximately 24 FTE's direct reports, managed by 2 Automation supervisors and is part of the
Qc Lab Services department

The
Janssen Supply Chain include the Leiden
QC large molecule laboratory , which is divided into various testing laboratories and supporting departments based on specific techniques and expertise.

One of the unique features of Leiden QC is its role as global HUB for stability testing. The test labs receive support from the Lab Services Team, which provides a wide range of services.

As a QC Automation Supervisor, you will be responsible for the following tasks:

Technical and job specific

Supervise the automation team and ensure that all departmental activities are carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures, and regulations.
Manage the automation activities and projects, including system installation, validation, and maintenance, to ensure that all work is completed on schedule and within budget.
Participate in crossfunctional teams to support process improvements, product transfers, and investigations related to automated systems.
Collaborate with other departments, such as Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, and Engineering, to ensure that automation systems are integrated and aligned with business objectives.
Oversee communication between internal and external parties during the analytical method and LIMS (Laboratory Information Management Systems) implementation process.
Take the lead in automation improvement initiatives and projects, in cooperation with the global organization and in alignment with business needs.

Managerial

Mentors, coaches, trains, and develops the personnel on the team, evaluates performance, and provides opportunities for growth.
Manages the planning and resource allocation of the team. Prioritize, escalate, and ensure the stakeholders are aware of the deliverables and timelines.
Create a team environment that fosters continuous improvement and critical and creative thinking.

Finally, you will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and guidelines related to safety, health, environmental procedures, data generation and maintenance in accordance with current regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

We would love to hear from YOU, if you have the following essential requirements:

Master's degree in Life Sciences / Chemistry / Biotechnology or highly experienced in a similar position.
Planning skills, ability to prioritize multiple commitments
Minimal 46 years of work experience in Pharma with GMP and automation or engineering experience
Project Management or people management experience
Laboratory Experience is considered as a plus.
Ability to engage with personnel at all levels within the organization, to build and maintain fruitful relationships
Written and oral communication skills in English. Dutch is desirable
Proactive, works independently, and takes actions in the absence of specific instructions
