    About the Role

    As the Global Managing Partner, Media AOR, you will assume the leadership role in integrating and expanding our global media organization to become a top-notch offering. Your responsibility will be to provide a clear vision and direction to a diverse team, enabling us to excel in the media industry for the next decade. This role involves identifying key areas of focus and investment for our media business, and collaborating directly with senior leadership and board stakeholders to prioritize and execute those investments. Your influential voice will play a vital role in winning new business and fostering the growth of our existing clients.

    This position is a global role and can be based in either the Media.Monks offices in New York or London, or remote.

    Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a forward-thinking vision for the Media.Monks Media AOR organization, positioning it as the global standard for advanced media
  • Act as a key public voice for the Media.Monks team in the media industry generating customer interest and positive PR
  • Cultivate and manage senior client relationships, acting as an executive sponsor and contributing to new business development and pitches

  • Establish, maintain, and strengthen relationships with global media partners in conjunction with the growth and partnerships teams
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Senior Management teams to ensure the overall success of the Media.Monks global offering to clients and prospects
  • Partner with Product and Technology teams to develop new product/tech solutions for Media AOR and create business cases to secure internal funding
  • Collaborate with regional teams to implement AOR solutions across global regions
  • Work with HR and other support groups to enhance staff satisfaction and group culture

  • Assess potential market opportunities, partnerships, and service lines for the media AOR business (both traditional and digital), and create comprehensive business plans and investment cases to capture those opportunities
  • Continuously evaluate global resources to maintain superior Service Level Agreements (SLAs) consistent with Statements of Work (SOWs)
  • Conduct regular gap analysis exercises on all aspects of the business, including offerings, tools, and staff.
  • Manage direct reports consisting of Media AOR department leaders, while overseeing the managerial structure of the AOR team as a whole
  • Ensure proper staffing and pricing models to ensure profitability and financial targets
  • Foster an exceptional team culture, instilling values and effective ways of working that inspire and motivate the global media organization
  • About You

    The essentials:

  • Over 15+ years of experience in media planning and buying, demonstrating expertise in both traditional and digital media, as well as leadership and strategy
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a talent for simplifying complex problems and processes for easy comprehension
  • Analytical thinker with the ability to analyze raw data, uncover valuable insights, and develop actionable recommendations. Possesses a natural affinity for working with numbers
  • Passionate about helping and developing others, readily available to provide support and guidance, and skilled at motivating individuals to achieve success
  • Strong work ethic characterized by high organization, diligence, and attention to detail.
  • Experience in managing global platform contracts, partner selection/onboarding, as well as analytics and measurement, including Marketing Mix Modeling (MMM)
  • Proficient in project management, capable of effectively organizing teams for complex projects
  • Recent focus on enterprise-level digital media, staying up to date with the latest trends in brand and performance digital media
  • Familiarity with various quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, with a working knowledge of when and how to apply them to address specific client challenges
  • Experience in managing P&L and conducting staffing/resource planning
  • Skilled in leading new business initiatives, with the ability to evaluate pitch direction beyond the details provided in RFPs
  • Enjoys their work and maintains a positive and enjoyable approach throughout the process

  • Experience in working with international or global teams and clients
  • Proficiency in multiple languages
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies and their impact on the media industry
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced startup or entrepreneurial environment
  • Understanding of regulatory and compliance issues related to media and advertising
  • Strong network and connections within the media industry
  • Experience in managing crisis situations and handling reputation management
  • Familiarity with diverse media channels and platforms, including social media, streaming services, and emerging digital platforms
  • Expertise in data privacy and protection regulations
  • Knowledge of industry-specific software and tools for media planning, buying, and analytics
  • Background in creative strategy and ideation for media campaigns
  • Understanding of cultural nuances and global market trends

  • Media.Monks has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what Media.Monks may pay for the position at the time of posting. Media.Monks may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on job-related factors, but not based on a candidate's sex or any other protected status.

    Salary Range$300,000—$375,000 USD
