    Genmab is modernizing the corporate IT function globally to better serve the business and support company growth.     To support this strategy going forward, we are looking for an Associate Director to lead our Laboratory Support Team based in The Netherlands, Denmark, and the US.

    As Associate Director for the Laboratory Support Team, you will ensure that our IT infrastructure and related services are performing as efficiently and smoothly as possible in our NL, DK, and US-based laboratories. A tight alliance must be established with key collaborators in the Laboratories, the I&O management team, and our MSP to be successful. The Laboratory Team is end-to-end responsible for improving the value of the I&O services and solutions in the Lab environment. See further details below.

    The role reports to the Senior Director of Laboratory Support.

    Responsibilities

    The key responsibilities for this role will be, but not limited to:

    • Lead and run the IT laboratory support team, ensuring efficient and effective support of laboratory computers.
    • Be responsible for the procurement, installation, and maintenance of laboratory computers and peripherals.
    • Ensure that all laboratory computers stay in sync with relevant data security protocols, industry standards, and regulatory requirements, including GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) and GDPR.
    • Support IT projects related to laboratory operations, including laboratory equipment and computer upgrades, migrations, and integrations.
    • Develop and maintain documentation for laboratory equipment and computers, including SOPs, system configurations, and architecture diagrams.
    • Serve as the main liaison between IT&D department and laboratory functions, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
    • Partner with relevant IT&D Teams to ensure that all IT&D services used by the Global Laboratory Management teams meet the agreed performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives as required.
    • The main point of contact for the Global Laboratory Management to resolve and handle significant service issues/incidents/problems.
    • Run and inspire a global laboratory team by setting clear direction and removing barriers.
    • Ensure quality of requirements and work with the relevant I&O teams (Digital workplace, deskside support, network, I&AM, etc.).
    • Guide on the following:
      • Operational Technology (OT) security.
      • Network segmentation based on level of compliance with security standards.
      • Life cycle management of laboratory systems (vendor-supported versions).
      • Backup of laboratory systems and data including Disaster Recovery.
      • Performance of laboratory systems according to SLAs/OLAs (Expectations).
      • Forecasting of storage and network capacity needs in the laboratory environment.

    Requirements

    Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, or related technical field or equivalent work experience.

    • Five or more years of experience in IT support, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role, preferably in a laboratory or biotechnology research environment.
    • Thoroughly with problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and social skills.
    • Fully proficient in English as this is company language.
    • Ability to work closely with multi-functional teams and lead support activities effectively.
    • Experience leading global teams of both employees and contractors.
    • Good understanding of laboratory processes and enabling laboratory equipment and computers.
    • Knowledge of biotechnology regulatory requirements and standards.
    • Experience with computing, storage, network, database management, and IT security standard methodologies.
    • Knowledge of laboratory assets management is preferred.
    • Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma for improving business processes is preferred.
